Absence tool doesn't work
Summary: lightsforbikes reports problems with an absence tool that is not working correctly and therefore does not show the required notices and extended delivery times. Despite the Concierge team’s indication that technicians are working on a solution, there was great concern about running into problems with buyers. petersmodellbahnstuebchen suggests ending items and listing them again later, but also points out that the Concierge team may not have provided enough information. In the end, it turns out that the tool is working again. However, lightsforbikes remains skeptical about whether the forum post contributed to the solution and still fears complaints from customers.
An activated vacation mode does not take effect! Neither the vacation banner nor the extended delivery time is shown to the customer. The Concierge team says the tech is already working on it. However, major problems with buyers are inevitable, and the burden on the account from items not shipped also carries a high risk of slipping in the rankings. We’re the ones who have to deal with the unnecessary hassle.
Please treat this with priority and eliminate the problem as quickly as possible! We, especially as 24/7 sellers, need a vacation sometimes too!

·1 week agoHey @lightsforbikes
that’s really annoying for you, but if that statement comes from the Concierge team, I’d say it’s pretty credible.
The only thing I can think of to limit the damage is to end all items in time and relist them after the vacation. However, only if this bug isn’t fixed shortly before the vacation.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

OP1 week agoHi Peter,
it’s sorted and works again now. Otherwise, I would have extended the processing time by the duration of the absence.
Best regards from the northwest,

Hey Torsten,
then it was probably the usual Friday tinkering or just the usual lead time for that setting.
However, the C-Service might have been able to point that out to you instead of talking about an error.
Best regards from Grömitz to Rastede

OP1 week agoNo Peter,
I had already set the setting on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. for 12 p.m. on Thursday, although we’re only away next week. You’re supposed to set it a bit earlier. In the afternoon it was still not active, and then in my phone call with eBay I was told that the problem had been known for three days and that the technicians were working on it. This morning on Friday the setting still wasn’t working, hence my post here.
Whether this did anything, or whether it only worked again by coincidence right after that, remains open.
At least we can now leave more calmly, even though, as always, there will be customers who won’t pay attention to the postponed delivery date and the notices and will start complaining at the latest from Wednesday about where the goods are.
Best regards from Ammerland,
Torsten

·1 week agoHello @lightsforbikes
I can see the away banner on your side until October 09 and delivery date for two randomly viewed items: 10.-15.10.26.
I’m away right now too. Have a great vacation!
