Error 25013 during inventory update — outdated variant value (XXL instead of 2XL) can no longer be changed after sale, support is no help.
Summary: hectoros_com reports a problem with eBay listings where the size variant "XXL" is no longer accepted, even though "2XL" is the new standard. Since changes are no longer allowed after a sale, support cases were opened, but they only led to generic responses. hectoros_com is looking for a solution or for someone who can fix the problem internally at eBay. miriam@ebay from eBay offers to look into the issue and asks for the item number affected.
Hello everyone,
for several of my listings with size variants (T-shirts), the old value "XXL" is still stored in the variant attribute "Size" instead of the now valid "2XL". eBay no longer accepts "XXL" for inventory updates, so every inventory change for these listings fails with error 25013 (HTTP 400).
I can no longer correct the value myself, because all affected listings already have sales, and after the first sale eBay no longer allows changes to variant attributes, neither individually nor via an API batch call, even with the value submitted correctly.
That's why I have already submitted two support cases and asked for an internal correction of the value. Both replies were only the general standard information about the variant editing rule, and they did not address the actual request (internal correction). I'd be happy to provide item numbers and case numbers if needed, also via DM to an eBay employee.
Has anyone here already had this problem resolved, or knows how to get to someone who can really correct the value internally?

There the issue still hasn’t been fully resolved either, but @miriam@ebay looked into it actively there. Maybe you can also help with our case or pass it on to the right place? In our case, it’s made more difficult by the fact that a correction afterward is no longer possible because of the sales block on variant attributes, even if we try it ourselves.
