Absolutely annoying, this identification when logging out. I have over 1500 ratings.
Why do I always have to identify myself again.
Nonsense.
That’s no fun with eBay.

Hello @ghvogel1, I can understand that this is perceived as annoying. Especially when you've been using eBay for a long time and have collected many ratings, an additional identification when logging out naturally seems a bit surprising at first. 🤔
I have also already seen this behavior and experienced it myself.
Is the identification still happening for you with every logout at the moment, or was that only the case temporarily?

·2 months agoHello everyone,
I’ve already noticed this nonsense too, both of them. Identification during LogIn and LogOut.
Meanwhile, due to, to put it mildly, not very helpful and in some cases completely ridiculous answers from Customer Service employees, I’ve gotten to the point where I sent a direct email to "impressum (at)eBay.de" which I addressed "personally" to the managing director Ms. Dr. Saskia Meier-Andrae. But I still haven’t received a reply.
The problem with eBay, as with other internationally active companies with international employees, is that they are partly not proficient in German content-wise and don’t even understand the problem at all.
An eBay employee even inferred from my technical inquiry that I had used a number of keywords that suggested that I would need technical aids or assistive technology. What???
Before that, I asked eBay Customer Service in writing and by phone, after I managed to convince the bot that I wanted to speak with a human. Yeah! It’s difficult, but I’m still smarter than the bot.
Unfortunately, Customer Service acts as if they know nothing about a problem. At least they forwarded my inquiry to an "expert team" (whoever or whatever that is). I’m still waiting for a solution here too.
Surprisingly, here in the community, though, "Steffi" from the eBay Community Team ( steffi@ebay)
So what now, Stefi. Problem known (!) but where is the solution from your experts, or when is it coming.
steffi@ebay
Hello @heltaperry, that I have also already seen and experienced the behavior myself does not mean that there is already a finished solution for everyone. Unfortunately. But it does show that the issue is known and is being monitored further. The exact technical background and possible adjustments are with the responsible expert teams. I therefore unfortunately cannot name a specific time for a change. 🤔
Your feedback is still important and helps to better assess the impact on users. Thank you for describing this so clearly. 🌟

·2 months agoHey, as you can read, even "the old hands" have to solve these puzzles .... but I think this is about having to solve a puzzle when logging OUT, which from my point of view is also GFrggrermpf... is 😋

·2 months agoBUT, what I completely forgot, eBay was (is) in the crosshairs of hacker attacks!
So in this case you can just accept it, I think they're grabbing at every straw to contain it
In one of our old shops we once had no captcha in the contact form .... what can I say, there was a day when about 100 messages came in ..... a second! 🤔

·2 months agoHello @ghvogel1
you've been registered here for over 14 years and have therefore surely experienced quite a few changes!
This one now really isn't the worst one - or do you see it differently?
Things like this usually pass again, too!

·2 months agoHello,
I also had to solve a Capcha before logging in today.
The prompt was a car or a motorcycle, and I was supposed to click on 4 images that fit the category.
There were pictures with elephants, with airplanes, and one more picture.
Of course the elephants belong with the motorcycle, because elephants do ride motorcycles. 🤣

·2 months ago🙃 It's not about logging in, but rather the captcha appears after logging out ‼️

·2 months agoYeah, a nice good day to you too @ghvogel1
What exactly do you mean?
Do you have to - like me for the past few days - solve a captcha after logging out?
I just click it away and that's that.
No one knows what that's supposed to be about.

·2 months agoI’ve also had to deal with that nonsense again for logging in for 3 days 😞
When logging out, I just close the browser and don’t deal with anything.
What that has to do with ratings, though, escapes me. People do come up with ideas 🙄

·2 months agoI do it that way too.

·2 months ago... the problem / annoying thing is just that it’s extremely tedious when you’re switching back and forth between multiple eBay accounts and every time you have to guess your way through logging out and sometimes logging back in 😫

·2 months agoHello,
Simply clicking away means nothing other than staying logged in.
Try that.

·2 months agoNope, that's not the case for me @dododronte when I close the page I'm out right away.
However, I also had to add ebay.de and ebay.community.de to FF as exceptions so that these cookies would stay.
Otherwise I have real probs with ebay.
