Immediate Attention Needed From eBay Customer Service
Summary: cardabid reached out to the eBay Compliance/Support Team seeking urgent assistance regarding a potential restriction on their eBay store due to OSS registration issues. They explained that their store sells second-hand goods under a specific VAT scheme, which exempts them from OSS requirements. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, including emails and callbacks, they had not received a satisfactory response. perfect-sally and nina@ebay responded in the community, assuring cardabid that their case would be forwarded to the appropriate team for follow-up. cardabid appreciated the swift communication.
Dear eBay Compliance/Support Team,
I am writing regarding an upcoming restriction on my eBay store (seller account: Cardabid) related to OSS (One Stop Shop) registration. My account is not currently restricted, but according to eBay's own notice, it will be restricted in 1 day if this is not resolved. I need this addressed in writing before that happens, as previous attempts to reach a resolution have gone unanswered.
Timeline of events:
12 August: My account was restricted due to an apparent lack of OSS registration.
13 August: I contacted eBay by email, as no one returned my call despite requesting a callback through eBay's Premium Store customer service. I received a reply from customer service the same day stating the restriction had been lifted. Approximately 40 minutes later, I received another email from eBay stating that my store would be restricted again within 14 days.
13 August (same day): I immediately replied to the customer service email (it is not a noreply mail) to prevent a repeat restriction, and again requested a callback through my Premium Store customer service. I have still not received that callback, nor any reply to this email.
17 August: I sent a follow-up email, as I had received no response. I have not received a reply to this one either.
25 August: I sent a follow-up email, as I had received no response. I have not received a reply to this one either.
Today: My account is currently not restricted, but per eBay's 14-day notice, it is due to be restricted again in 1 day. I am sending this message as a further attempt to resolve this before that happens.
Why OSS does not apply to my business:
My store sells exclusively second-hand goods only under the EU VAT margin scheme (margeregeling / globalisatieregeling), in accordance with Article 35 of Council Directive 2006/112/EC (the EU VAT Directive) and its Dutch implementation. Under this scheme, VAT is calculated and accounted for on the profit margin, not on the full sale price, and these supplies fall outside the intra-Community distance sales rules that the OSS (Union scheme) is designed for. In short: margin scheme goods are excluded from OSS reporting, so I am not required to register for or report through OSS for these sales.
Request:
Written confirmation that my account will NOT be restricted, given that OSS registration does not apply to margin scheme sales.
Given that the restriction is due to take effect in 1 day, I would appreciate an urgent reply.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Kind regards,
Abid

·2 weeks agoWe’re not an eBay support team here, but a community with other users.
I’ll pass it on to an eBay employee who will get in touch here.
@nina@ebay could you please take a look? Thanks

·2 weeks agoNo problem. The customer service also seems catastrophic otherwise, and if there are any problems, you're definitely better off here, since during "business hours" we can call in an eBay employee at any time.
