Is messaging sellers down right now?
Hi eBay,
I’m currently having problems sending messages to sellers because I have questions about the products on offer. I only get the message "Something seems to have gone wrong. Please try again later." ... This is happening with two different sellers and has been going on for about 2 hours now. Is something wrong with your messaging system, or what could be causing this?

The messaging function is apparently working again. According to eBay, it was a technical problem, but of course I don't know the exact details. Anyway, I can now contact sellers again before buying.

OP2 weeks agoI just got in touch with eBay support... I was told that there is currently a system-wide issue and that they are working on it. I was asked to be patient for 1-2 days.
Well... I'll report back.

this doesn't seem to be a general problem, since I was just able to send you a message without any error message. Please check whether it went through.
Is it possible that, because of some issues in the past (e.g. non-payments), you're blocked by the sellers' block settings?

Have you tried clearing the cache, deleting the cookies, and using a different browser?

I cleared the cache ... I'm testing the browser now ... on mobile and on the laptop (though with the same browser) it throws the same error.

Your message came through. It can't be due to general blocking settings.
Maybe you've had some "trouble" with the two sellers before?

OP2 weeks agoNo... they're sellers I haven't had any contact with before.
And in that case I would - actually yes - expect a message like "the seller has blocked you" or something similar, or is eBay not that transparent about this?
