Hello,
A customer living in Austria wants to buy one of my items listed on eBay.
Normally, I only sell domestically. So I changed the shipping settings for the item in question, entered shipping to Austria under „Additional locations“ and clicked „Save“. Unfortunately, this setting is automatically reverted by the system without any action on my part.
What do I need to do to make it possible to order the item from Austria?

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Although I entered the buyer's member name in the exception list, when trying to buy the item, they receive the same error message as before. What could be causing this?

·1 week agoI wouldn't know why this proposed list should have anything to do with shipping abroad. It's about the restricted buyer group, and that doesn't enable international shipping.
You need to revise your listing and offer shipping abroad there. However, that only works as long as there are no bids or active price proposals on it.
And one more note:
With just under 600 active items, pretending to be a private seller is extremely presumptuous! Cease-and-desist letters are expensive!
You are typically acting as an entrepreneur or commercially if you:
buy items to resell them
sell items that you have made for resale
regularly sell large quantities of items
sell similar goods, especially new goods, over a longer period of time
frequently sell new items that you did not purchase for your own use
According to case law, the following are considered indications of commercial activity:
operating an eBay shop
number of current sales: if many items are constantly being sold over a longer period of time, this is generally a commercial seller
selling a private collection over an extended period of years
type of items sold (new or used goods, value): the sale of several similar navigation devices was classified as proof of commercial activity – as was the offer of 250 batteries in various sizes with reference to the availability of larger quantities.
a website or the use of advertising descriptions that make a professional impression
Note: We regularly review the trading activities of our sellers and may ask them to mark their eBay account as a business account. In addition, you must expect to be formally warned at your expense by competitors or consumer protection associations and to be taken to court for injunctive relief.

·1 week agoPossible, but you definitely have different default settings. If shipping isn’t specified for the item, even the restricted buyer group won’t help to improve it.

Check whether the checkbox is ticked for the following item: “Do not accept buyers whose preferred delivery address is a location to which I do not ship goods”.
Important: If this checkbox is ticked, the block will stubbornly remain in effect as long as Austria is on your shipping exclusion lists.

OP1 week agoI just checked. A checkmark in this checkbox is not set. So that can't be the reason. I had already removed Austria from the shipping exclusion list. Actually, everything should be fine.
