Hello dear eBay Community, I sold a PS5 controller two weeks ago (39.99 € + 5.49 € shipping).I shipped the item insured via Hermes as a parcel (up to 50 €) — I bought the shipping label directly through eBay.According to the tracking, the parcel was accepted and handed over to a Hermes courier, but then nothing else happened. It seems as if the parcel got lost on the way to the depot. There has been no new status for 6 business days. The buyer opened a case right away. I asked him to be a little patient, since Hermes is still investigating, but shortly after that he involved eBay. eBay immediately decided in his favor and refunded the full amount — even though there is proof of shipment. What is especially frustrating for me is that I now have neither the item nor the money, and on top of that I even had to pay the shipping costs. Hermes, in turn, is only referring me back to eBay (see attachment). My questions:Why does eBay decide in favor of the buyer so early, even though I can prove that I shipped the item and the shipment is with Hermes?How can you protect yourself as a private seller in cases like this when a parcel gets lost in transit?What options do I still have now to get my loss reimbursed?Thanks in advance for your support.
