I sold a fully functional Yashica T4 camera on eBay. Before shipping, I recorded a clear test video showing that the camera works perfectly — in particular, that the lens cover opens correctly when the camera is turned on.A few days after shipping, the buyer reported that the lens cover would not open and demanded a refund of his money. I pointed out that the camera had been carefully tested before shipping. I opened a case with eBay myself, described the situation, and referred to the available evidence (video).I also contacted eBay customer service by phone. There I was told that my actions were understandable. Nevertheless, after four days the case was automatically decided in the buyer's favor. The entire purchase amount including shipping costs was refunded to the buyer and debited from my account.The camera was then returned to me — however, without any protection or padding, which is absolutely inappropriate for a delicate device like the Yashica T4.Of course I made a video before opening the package.After receiving it, I tested the camera immediately with batteries: it worked perfectly. The defect stated by the buyer was not present. There were no signs of a malfunction.📌 Conclusion:I sold a camera that was demonstrably working, was confronted with baseless claims of defects, and despite evidence such as video and a customer service conversation, was financially penalized.The buyer got both his money back and a functioning camera, which he returned improperly. eBay's decision is, as a seller, incomprehensible to me, unbalanced, and unfair.As a private seller, do you not have seller protection!!!!🔎 Shortly after the decision, I posted a comment about this matter in the eBay Community to make other sellers aware of this incident and warn them about similar experiences.
