Error when entering the item price
Summary: corfiote reported a problem on a sales platform where price changes failed and prices were being displayed incorrectly automatically. Several participants, including der-dicke-beer55 and roter_rauch, confirmed the problem and suspected a software bug. Some found workarounds, such as using the smartphone app or replacing the comma with a period. However, others like tradepower24 reported that these solutions did not always work. Other issues, such as uploading photos, were also discussed, with frustration expressed over the lack of reachability of support.
I finished my listings today and restarted them again. In the process, I also changed the prices a bit.
For one item, an error message suddenly appeared saying that this month I’m not allowed to sell for more than €26,000.
While looking for the cause, I suddenly saw that the field "Artikelpreis" had 33.333,00€ in it. Ok, I thought, typo.
Entered it again, 333,33€, scrolled down, "list item". The error again.
Then I waited a bit to see what happens after entering 333,33€. And sure enough - after a few seconds, the value automatically jumps.
Two other items of mine then showed 5499€. I wasn’t able to correct the value, and then I also had to change 55€. Here too, there was another automatic jump.
If it’s relevant, Win11 and Edge, I haven’t tried it anywhere else either. But something like that פשוט just must not happen!

·1 week agoI just had that too, from 2.29 EUR to 229.00 EUR. I also use Windows11, I don't know if it's because of the Windows program. I reported this technical error to ebay.

·1 week agoYeah, really, super annoying.... it’s already making me pretty damn angry, especially because you can’t get hold of anyone at Ebay by phone..... been trying since yesterday.... :-(((

·1 week agoHello dear community, the bug annoyed me a lot yesterday too, and unfortunately it's still annoying me today...... I tried the tip with the decimal point instead of the comma, at first it jumps back to a hundred times the amount, but shortly after that the correct price appears and the offer can also be set that way .... Thanks for the tip :-)))

·1 week agoI'm "suffering" from the same problem. I noticed it for the first time yesterday; in the end I gave up on correcting the prices. Today more items, I thought it was the browser, deleting cookies etc., but that didn't help and it was the same on the office PC.
Ok, so there's a problem on eBay. I hope it gets fixed soon and would like to receive a notification when it has been fixed. Luckily, automatic relistings don't seem to be affected so far.

·1 week ago · EditedUnfortunately, a period doesn't do the trick for us. Unfortunately, the period is treated exactly the same as the comma. 39,90 € is automatically turned into 3990 € and 39.90 € is also automatically turned into 3990 €.

·1 week agoIf you use a period instead of a comma, it works for me now too. The only annoying thing is having to change every single offer like that. Awful.

·1 week agoHello, I also have 2 extra zeros automatically inserted before the decimal point by eBay. That’s absolutely not okay. Maybe it’s better to switch to Vinted.

·1 week agoGood day, I have the same error on the PC, so I’ll take a look to see if it works in the app. If not, eBay needs to come up with something quickly, we make our money with this.

A small tip: if you enter a period instead of a comma in the price field, it should work. At least that’s how it is for us....

·1 week agoThat’s an idea too! But what might happen if the bug is fixed and the dot is then interpreted as a thousands separator, as is customary here? ;-))
It remains exciting. Ebay … fast & easy was yesterday.

·1 week agoIt's the same for me too, very annoying.
Workaround: It works in the app on my smartphone, I change the price there, and I can do the rest on the computer. I hope this gets fixed quickly

·1 week agoThey’re probably tinkering with the system again right now... Lately these things keep popping up whenever something gets changed, like the current display of the item images in the listing...

·1 week agoI had that just now too, only it worked apparently when I left out the comma completely (clean price).
Well, in the land of crazy decisions, they don't know the comma as a decimal separator, maybe that's the cause.
