More and more buyers just aren’t paying
Summary: zappydooyoo expresses frustration over an increasing number of unpaid purchases and changes to eBay's process for reporting these cases. They mention that the option to report 'buyer did not pay' is no longer available and are concerned about the lack of feedback on whether non-payers face restrictions. petersmodellbahnstuebchen and miriam@ebay provide clarifications and mention adjustments in eBay's system to prevent repeated offenses through new accounts. zappydooyoo remains skeptical about eBay's response and effectiveness in addressing these issues.
Hello everyone
More and more people seem to think they can do whatever they want here. As a result, there are more and more cases where a purchased item is not paid for.
The purchase can indeed be canceled after 4 days, the buyer can be added to the blacklist, and the item can be relisted. If someone likes
this extra effort, by all means.
Now, though, it has recently become the case that “buyer has not paid” can no longer be selected as the reason for canceling the purchase. Other selection options are
offered that have nothing to do with non-payment.
Has eBay capitulated? Who else has experienced that this reason for canceling a purchase is no longer available?

Hello @zappydooyoo - I took a look at that right away and you had sent an invoice for the current order on July 28, the timer (4 x 24 hours) starts then and only when this period has expired will the option "Buyer has not paid" be available to you.
By the way, we recently improved our systems so that restrictions due to repeatedly unpaid items cannot be bypassed by creating new accounts.
Best regards
Miriam

OP2 weeks agoHello miriam@ebay,
Thanks for your time, but it’s about the other two cases (137509858186 and 137479359804), where the buyer also didn’t pay. I had to select a different reason for closing the case because the option "buyer has not paid" couldn’t be selected at all. In the text field below, I had to enter as a note that no payment was made. You don’t get any feedback anyway on whether the user received restrictions or not — doesn’t really matter. eBay Germany hardly has any trust left anyway; you only need to look at the quarterly figures and how the business is doing in other countries. Even in the latest case, it will probably end the same way, that no payment comes in and the case still can’t be reported properly, namely as unpaid. eBay really couldn’t care less — or how else do you explain that more and more users are coming to this conclusion? These people aren’t even permanently excluded, why not?

·2 weeks agoHi @zappydooyoo
you don’t report a purchase cancellation here, but rather an unpaid item. You can find these in the VCP under Orders:
Ebay changing something here would be news to me. However, it’s also been a long time for me since I last had a non-payer.
Best wishes from the Baltic Sea

·2 weeks agoFor clarification for those who didn’t get it:
By “here,” the report about an unpaid item is meant.
