Buyer buys a 23-year-old digital camera for €19.90 and complains about defective batteries | Sell

I’ve been selling assorted junk here since my father died - recently every item has had “100% functionality cannot be guaranteed” in the listing With a digital camera from 2003, an Ixus V2 with the addition “Vintage,” I had posted a single picture and made NO statement about functionality. The batteries apparently only lasted a few minutes, but the camera itself worked, and all cables and adapters were included as shown in the picture.The buyer purchases it for €19.9+€6.19 DHL parcel shipping and then wants to withdraw from the purchase because both delivered batteries were supposedly defective, while the camera had been listed as “used” = fully functional. He does not provide any proof that the main product was defective, and he refuses to return it at his own expense because of my alleged intent to deceive. Ebay then decided as a gesture of goodwill that he can keep the thing, he gets 100% refund, and I too will get my money paid out as originally paid - in effect: the buyer gets the item for free! Well then - both are satisfied, and this guy just slaps me with a negative review. But now, honestly: if a buyer - for whatever reason - collector or weirdo - wants to use a 23-year-old digital camera to the fullest extent, doesn’t he ask BEFORE buying, “Are the batteries okay, can you guarantee 100% functionality?” Especially at a price of €19.9 That did not happen here! I assume that from the very beginning the buyer had nothing else in mind than to find an offer like mine, where - thanks to Ebay goodwill - you can get spare parts for FREE. They’re the same ones who on [not on eBay] also don’t want to pay €10 for a flat-screen TV even though it would be worth €50. They come by and then want to pay nothing at all. Shame on you! Such buyers should be reported and banned!
