Buyer abuses the return policy and is in the right
Summary: A participant initiated a discussion about a buyer allegedly abusing the return policy and getting favorable treatment. pripa11ef shared unresolved interactions with this buyer, sparking responses from voli-maus, alena@ebay, and others. The conversation highlighted concerns over fairness and the need for policy reforms.
Before I could do anything, he opens a return case on eBay. Of course I file an objection with the screenshot from the chat. Even so, eBay sticks with the decision that the buyer gets his money back.
I honestly don't understand the world anymore...
This was definitely the last time I sold anything on this platform.
The icing on the cake is that apparently he doesn't even have to send the defective item back to me now, which would at least let me try to minimize my loss myself through the manufacturer's goodwill...
Can anyone explain to me what happened here and why this is supposed to be okay? Because I really don't understand it. If eBay absolutely considers buyer protection to be permissible in a case like this, then eBay should damn well cover the costs itself and not demand them back from me as a private individual.

OP2 months agoSorry if my post yesterday was a bit of a tirade. I'm not an experienced seller and probably got way too worked up about the situation.
