Klarna
Summary: The thread revolves around a discussion on Klarna, involving various participants including gartenhaus13, molfish, bootyooty, and others. While specific details of the conversation are not provided, the discussion appears to be active and includes multiple interactions and responses.
Bought pillows at Media Shop. Unfortunately, they were not deliverable. Media Shop instructed Klarna to refund my payment. Klarna now demands that I download the Klarna app and answer many questions to get my money. Now Klarna is withholding my payment, how do I get my money? Klara doesn't respond to my emails but always demands the download of the app. I suspect eBay is aware of Klarna's schemes. I'll now carefully consider whether and what I'll buy on eBay.

·2 months agoHello @gartenhaus13,
Thank you very much for your post!
If your seller has already reported the refund to Klarna, the process on our side is complete, because for payments via Klarna (e.g. instant bank transfer), the refund always goes through Klarna itself. The processing, including any necessary verification, is therefore handled by Klarna and not by eBay or the seller.
In principle, this means: if you use Klarna as a payment method, their refund process is part of that as well.
If you have any questions or problems, you should contact Klarna customer service directly once more. Since you still haven't received a reply to your emails to Klarna, I recommend trying their phone support. Here you can find the relevant phone number on Klarna's website.
Thanks for the tag, @bootyooty!
Best regards
Verena

Hi Verena, just out of curiosity, is this always the case with Klarna or only in payment disputes? Thanks. 🤗

·2 months agohello @gartenhaus13 .So I also received a refund via Klarna twice in the last 2 months...without any problems and the Klarna app, which I keep being recommended by email....but you don’t have to follow that.
Are you absolutely sure that it’s supposed to work only through the app?
gartenhaus13
OP2 months agoYes, if I want it differently, I’m taken to the app. We wanted to order T-shirts from Mooinzen 14 days ago. The same problem with Klarna, the payment only worked with the app. So we didn’t order then.

Use PayPal in the future, there are no problems with payments or refunds, whether here on eBay or anywhere else in the world.

·2 months agoHello @petersmodellbahnstuebchen,
thanks for your question!
To be honest, you’re asking the wrong customer service team here, unfortunately. We don’t know the background of Klarna’s individual processes, so we can’t say for sure what is required in which situation.
But in this case, it definitely wasn’t a payment dispute, but rather an inquiry via eBay, which the seller refunded independently, if that helps you. 🙂
Best regards
Verena

Hi Verena,
thanks, then I'll follow up again on Monday.
Because I already find it surprising that the process for a normal complaint or return should work like this.
So far, I had assumed that since all payments (with a few exceptions) always run through eBay and eBay has the agreement with the payment service provider.

Hi Verena,
I just looked it up at Klarna. It seems that all refunds are processed the way you described:

·2 months agoHello @petersmodellbahnstuebchen
Just to add:
When you order something online and pay with Klarna, any refund always comes through Klarna, not through the retailer.
Example: I ordered something from DM the week before last and paid via Klarna. When the package arrived, a bottle had leaked. I reported this to DM, who in turn reported it to Klarna, and I received a partial refund from Klarna for the goods that had become unusable.
And I do not use the Klarna app !!.... just saying this again in relation to the problem from @gartenhaus13 .

·2 months agoHi @dmary56
how do you receive the refunds then?
Was it direct debit or purchase on invoice / installment payment?
I’m asking because I’ve never used Klarna.
petersmodellbahnstuebchen
·2 months agoHi @dmary56
but if you received a refund via Klarna, you must have somehow linked your account with Klarna, even without using the app.
Unless you received the refund directly to your Ebay account.

OP2 months agoI already knew I was on my own with this problem. Ebay is only hurting itself with Klarna's machinations anyway.
gartenhaus13
OP2 months agoI had already understood that. It’s just that Klarna is Ebay’s partner, and I’m surprised that Ebay just puts up with Klarna’s actions like this.
We celebrated yesterday with 25 people. The topic was discussed. A lot of guests said ...then we’d rather buy at **bleep**

·2 months ago@selina_b@ebay 😘 do you still have time for this matter?
molfish
·2 months agoI would insist that you get the refund the same way you paid.
gartenhaus13
OP2 months agoKlarna turns a deaf ear to that. When I look at Klarna reviews, it seems to be Klarna's tactic
