Refund even though the item never arrived at my place
Summary: dendib-1154 reports that he sold an item on eBay, but the buyer was unhappy and initiated a refund. Although the buyer provided a tracking number, the item never arrived at dendib-1154’s place, even though the carrier’s website shows it as delivered. eBay decided the case in the buyer’s favor. perfect-sally recommends contacting the shipping provider and warns about the importance of meeting deadlines. It is also discussed that there may be an appeal option with eBay.
Dear community,
I sold an item on eBay to Latvia.
The buyer didn’t like the item and started a refund, and sent me a tracking number as a message.
Now some time has passed and the item hasn’t arrived with me, but it is shown as delivered on the service provider’s website. I never received the item, the package was neither left with neighbors nor anywhere else, and I’m unable to trace which parcel service provider in Germany the package was handed over to.
However, eBay has now closed the case in favor of the buyer. But I’m still missing my item, and the buyer did not respond to any messages regarding the tracking, which carrier, etc.
Has anyone had a similar case?
Best regards

OP1 week agoI only just found out the shipping provider's contact address and got in touch. I also contacted eBay again but still haven't received a response...

·1 week agoOh dear, if you write “some time has passed,” then that probably won’t lead to anything anymore either. On eBay and with the shipping providers, there are deadlines you should stick to.
How did you contact eBay then? By email, maybe? Anyway, all you get there are prewritten replies, if anything comes back at all.

OP1 week agoThe package was supposedly delivered on 22/09, after that I first tried to contact the buyer, who sent the package, after all. When I heard nothing from him, I opened a case on eBay and now it has been decided in favor of the buyer today.

·1 week agoYes, that's clear when it shows as delivered.
Didn't eBay have the option to file an appeal against the decision?

OP1 week agoNo, I was only notified that the debit would be made.
