I’ve now googled it myself as well. It’s making my hair
stand on end, what all I found there. There are masses of accounts
to be found that are clearly not reputable. How is one supposed to handle that?
I simply also don’t understand how such sellers
can slip through eBay’s net. After all, so much value is usually placed on
proper behavior. I’m getting the feeling right now as if among the scammers
it has got around that you can easily
carry out your dubious business here.
Now I’m curious to see how this develops, may the report button glow!

what is the buyer supposed to complain about after 5, 6 or 10 months?
There can be neither a fire nor anything to complain about.
I’ve been following this for more than a week now - nothing is being delivered. The seller thinks it’s worth paying €2 for PayPal payment and €0.10 for credit card payment - good deal .. he’s got what he needs anyway.
Just read a few reviews, then you’ll understand it.

if you already have to ask, then something already seems off to you too.
In that case, trust your gut.
If not, buy it and see what happens over the next few months.
It could be an apartment/house fire or some defect, and then you'll see how you'd try to make a claim with a private seller after 5, 6, or 10 months.
Honestly, I can't understand how anyone could even come up with the idea of buying from sellers like that.

Data extraction through fake sales - data harvesting instead of delivery of goods.
What do you think you can earn with that and how much money you can launder.

No, you can also sort out the black sheep beforehand,
so you don’t even end up falling into a trap like that in the first place.
For example, if a new private seller lists 100 new identical items and
is thus no longer private and doesn’t have a valid legal notice, and then
still sells, that’s no longer reputable.
If eBay tolerates that, it’s its responsibility.

Personally, if I wanted to buy an electrical appliance, I would definitely go to a brick-and-mortar store on site, and for the following reasons.
1. Advice on site
2. Testing on site
3. If something is wrong with the device, I always have a contact person on site
4. With a return or similar, you don't have to send the goods halfway around the world.
5. Warranty / CS checked or fake ?
Just my opinion, and I'll put it like this: everyone, including me, started at "0" at some point, and whether something is fishy / would be, time would first show that.

I usually buy in person and online from sellers based in Germany.
