Is S*x sells allowed?
I'm currently selling my old graphics card on eBay and of course had a look to see whether others like it are being sold, and I came across a user who presents his electronics on his naked body.
I'm wondering right now whether that should really be allowed on eBay...

·1 week ago · EditedI have to agree with @gldj-htv there. How do you even come up with a presentation like that? Normally, you put the merchandise on the table and not on naked body parts. What on earth is going on there?

OP1 week agoand as I said, the weird thing was: I reported this about 2 weeks ago, and then ALL of this seller's listings were deleted. Just for "fun," I checked again today to see what had become of the account - and lo and behold....

Admittedly, as far as the commercial aspect is concerned, I see it that way too.

that's definitely not allowed, after all we're not on OnlyFans here 🤣 Just go to one of Nackdie's products again... then you should find a question mark somewhere on the right side, click that and there you can submit a report. That's how it is for me anyway.

OPAug 9, 2026 at 9:08 PMwell, I did it like this now: through Help -> then ask this chatbot and it then directed me to the complaint form, and there I specified that I didn’t buy anything from the seller, but there are several auctions showing images where he “presents” the hardware (graphics cards, power supplies, etc.) on his bare body or body parts - and I even included some auctions as links. At least the confirmation email from eBay is already here, saying it was received XD

OP1 month agoYeah, the question is where you can even report anything on eBay - I can't find anything... and even if I could: under which "violation" category do you submit that?
Putting that aside, that still doesn't answer my question XD

OP1 month agoI’m an artist, and where I offer them now, whether on eBay or on one of the many other art sites (where I actually am and also have to pay a lot of money per year for the premium membership) is irrelevant. Besides, I’m not pointing fingers at others; I simply asked a normal question. Anyway, I don’t understand what this “comparison,” which isn’t one at all, is supposed to mean again now.
Am I supposed to post a link here now or what? If so, then THAT would be a concrete “pointing fingers,” and I don’t want that.

OPAug 9, 2026 at 6:25 PM · Editedyep, but artists fall into a gray area when it comes to that. Especially if you’re a painter and deliberately don’t want to hire an agency because you don’t want a bunch of people to have their hands in the till beforehand.
On top of that, as already mentioned: my works can be found on a ton of other artist platforms. But that still doesn’t change my basic question of whether it’s allowed for a seller to advertise their stuff with photos where those things are lying on their naked body or naked body parts. And I figure it’ll probably not be just one seller where that’s the case.

·Aug 9, 2026 at 6:44 PMOh and as an artist, of course you have no intention of making a profit when something is sold! The tax office will probably be interested in the gray area, and eBay also constantly checks whether it’s commercial trading.
As for your problem, as has already been written several times, nothing can be said as long as one doesn’t know the item or the pictures you posted.

And still, eBay has its own rules and, as I said, they check constantly, and if you fall into the net, you're asked to switch to commercial or stop selling.
Of course, there's also the option of reporting things to eBay, and they do follow those up too.
And I already see that as more than a gray area if you withhold consumer rights from your buyers when you say you're selling privately.
