Combined shipping for items with Buy It Now
Hello everyone! I unfortunately can no longer find the relevant topics here, but it has already been mentioned several times that there are difficulties with shipping costs that are charged and paid twice or multiple times if a buyer purchases several items via Buy It Now or several items in auctions with a price suggestion. If several of these items can be shipped together, the buyer naturally assumes that they only have to pay the postage once, and the shipping costs paid multiple times then have to be refunded in some way. Now I saw in the sales form that the setting "immediate payment" for Buy It Now items can also be deactivated. Would it then be possible to send the buyer an invoice for the total amount with adjusted shipping costs? Or is it not recommended to deactivate this setting?

How do I ship items with authenticity verification?
Sold an item with authenticity check for the first time – How do you handle insured shipping to the verification center? Hi everyone, today I sold my first higher-value item (real jewelry / gold chain) on eBay. In general, I’m super happy about the sale, but now I’m facing an organizational hurdle when it comes to shipping to the eBay verification center, and I’m hoping for your experience. For the category I chose, eBay doesn’t provide me with a prepaid shipping label. That means I have to organize, pay for, and insure the transport to the verification center myself. All eBay requires is that the shipment be sent with tracking and signature upon delivery, and adequate transport insurance is strongly recommended. In addition, the virtual tracking number (eVTN) must be indicated on the parcel. After doing some research, however, I ran into a problem: As far as I know, standard parcel services like DHL classify precious metals and real jewelry as valuables class II, which are normally insured only up to €500 – optional additional insurance usually doesn’t even apply to these valuables according to the terms and conditions. That would mean any loss on the way to the verification center would be entirely on me. So my questions for the experienced sellers among you: How do you handle this “problem” or which shipping provider do you use in such cases? How do you secure the value of your high-priced sold item? Are there any special things to watch out for when filling out the label or when dropping it off at the verification center so that the eVTN and the signature on handover are processed smoothly? I want to make sure the item arrives at the verification center fully protected without falling into an insurance trap. Thanks in advance for your advice and practical tips!

Conflicting shipping information

Hi, I sold an item a few days ago and also shipped it after the sale. Ebay is telling me that the delivery didn’t work out and that the item is being returned to me. However, when I enter the tracking number with DHL, it confirms to me that the delivery has arrived. This is also confirmed by entering the buyer’s postal code. The buyer also isn’t responding to my messages and questions. What can I do?

German Post and no tracking information
Hello again, On 30/07/26 I labeled two letters here and handed them in together at the DP branch. For one shipment there were tracking details, for the other none at all (order 09-14963-53172). As is well known, the shipment data updates keep getting stuck, but I don’t like it this way. Is there anything that can be done about it? Thanks in advance

International returns
I bought a replica watch from France. After a bit of back and forth, the seller provided a return label via eBay. After dropping it off, I only then saw that he had sent just a parcel without tracking. I was still able to change it to insured with tracking, but with a different tracking number. Now to the problem: eBay wants to take the return data for the parcel from DHL in order to generate a refund. But that doesn’t work, and I can’t confirm the official return. But I do have a different tracking number. Please help.

eBay sends out incorrect delivery notifications
Over the last few days, I’ve been getting more and more customer messages that eBay is sending buyers a notification saying the item has been delivered, even though with letter shipping eBay can’t track that at all. As we all know, there’s only basic shipment tracking for that. Because of this, buyers keep thinking there’s a problem, but in reality the shipment is just still on its way. This could be avoided if eBay didn’t simply send a delivery confirmation for letters! It becomes really critical when, on that basis, a buyer then opens a case for “item not received.” Is this issue known? Will anything change here? @miriam@ebay @verena@ebay

Package disappeared at the post office
I auctioned off an item that was sold, I shipped it, and it disappeared at the post office. The package never arrived. What should I do? eBay has held back the amount. How do I get my money? The package is insured after all.

Buyer picked up 2 items, despite the code one item is still marked as "please ship"
I sold and handed over 2 items to a buyer yesterday. I entered the code, and everything is also checked off in green. Still, one of the two items says "ship now" and it keeps showing up in red. I’ve already entered the pickup code for both items several times; it’s accepted, but then the message appears again.

Can someone from eBay just tick it off in my account? Of course the buyer took both items. Thanks!

Good evening I'm slowly reaching my breaking point here....This topic has been discussed for months and nothing has happened to date. My item can/must be shipped by 30.07. and then this comes from ebay: Date shown to buyer for delivery approx.: 29 Jul 2026 - 31 Jul 2026 So delivery before shipping or within a day? Especially since it's now well known that the postal service or DHL needs 3-5 business days.

The delivery date is before the shipping date. What’s up with eBay?
A customer contacted us because he has not yet received the item. Since it is a made-to-order item, we have set a processing time of 5 business days there. The customer bought it on 28.10. and complained that the item had not yet arrived on 30.10. He was shown 30.10. as the delivery date. I have now checked this and looked at the order data. In fact, the delivery date shown to the customer is 30.10. and the shipping date is correctly stated as 4 November, based on the stored processing time of 5 business days. That means the customer is being shown a delivery date that is before the shipping date???? Even if we had only had a one-day processing time, that would be a very tight delivery date, not to mention the turnaround times of postal and delivery services. Is there a rational explanation for this? Because we make the item to order and then cancel it, since the customer is shown a delivery date before the shipping date.

Item was returned, wasn't picked up at the post office, what now?
Hello, I sold a shirt privately, shipping by parcel, 2.70. So far so good, but now the shipment has come back because the buyer didn’t pick up the parcel at the branch. DHL apparently put a card in the mailbox. I’ve already received the proceeds too. Am I now responsible, or does the buyer have to pay shipping costs again? It wasn’t my fault after all. And what do I do if the buyer asks for a refund? Thanks a lot for any answers, Nic.

How long is a DHL parcel shipment on the way?
Hello everyone! How long does it usually take for a DHL parcel to arrive? Are two weeks or more "normal"? I have hardly any experience with this, so that’s my question. On 21/06/26, I bought a new item from a commercial seller and paid via PayPal. Free shipping was listed. The item is now - two weeks later - apparently still on the way. There is tracking, but nothing changes there. Right at the top, for several days now, it has said that the delivery is delayed. But it doesn’t say by how many days. I messaged the seller this morning, but I’m not expecting a reply. Edit on 09/07/26 at 08:58: I’ve now reattached the screenshot without the tracking number.
