Buyer displayed date for delivery.....
Hello,
we have a problem - by now a very, very big problem regarding the displayed delivery time for buyers, which is way off the mark.
We have set a processing time of 1 business day, and yet buyers who purchased on Monday 11/05 at 10:46 p.m. are being shown a delivery date starting as early as Tuesday 12/05, max. 13/05, see attached file.
Needless to say, that doesn't work, and 1 day postage is more than ambitious. We're only having problems with buyers because they are citing the displayed delivery date.
Does anyone have a brilliant idea? Can someone tag someone from eBay here or something?
Through inquiries, **bleep** a lot of money is lost, because 90% of all inquiries are not closed, even though the item was then of course delivered by letter post.
Many thanks to everyone

Then Ebay should at least point out in the listing that the seller is not responsible for the information, but EBAY is.
For example, like this: "Delivery time calculated by Ebay"
After all, I am not responsible for this crap.
I would NEVER lie to my buyers.
It is really annoying to keep being insulted by buyers because the goods arrive too late.
And increasing the processing time unfortunately also has consequences.
Then an Ebay screw clamp comes into play too:
The item is listed less favorably.
And you can always CHANGE something like that.
Ebay just has to want to.

Hello @nadelzauber2015 and everyone!
eBay now generally displays delivery dates dynamically. This takes into account not only your set handling time, but also, among other things:
So if you often ship quickly or shipments statistically arrive early, eBay moves the delivery date forward accordingly. This happens regardless of what is realistically possible with letter shipping in practice. This can't be changed, and the only lever left is the handling time or shipping method.
We do see the recurring community reactions on this topic, but in relation to the overall daily sales volume on eBay, these are still rather low.
Best regards
Miriam

yes, by now we know that Ebay doesn’t give a damn about “those few” complainers!
And even if there were more, that still wouldn’t be reversed, we all know that, don’t we!!!
After all, some “highly paid” person did once receive praise and recognition for this glorious idea.
It’s simply embarrassing how Ebay tries to imitate the competition by any means possible - and then doesn’t even manage to do it.
But instead of pausing for a moment and reflecting on its core strengths, it just keeps going with blind activism - typical American thinking, really!
My core statement still stands:
It is none of Ebay’s business how long I set my handling time, and I find it utterly outrageous that I have to let some completely immature algorithm dictate to me how quickly I have to ship!
Extension:
That is not only cheeky, but also patronizing and, in my opinion, already borders on coercion!

Just lean back and let eBay show whatever it wants.
You only need to take action if there are defect entries. As a rule, there aren't any if you add a tracking number, offer tracked shipping (parcel) and ship within the handling time.
I assume you send letters and goods shipments? Unfortunately, these only have basic tracking (often non-functional), and buyers have the option of reporting an item as delivered too late. Here it helps to increase the handling time or generally only offer items that allow parcel shipping.
Everyone has to try it out for themselves. For example, I have so far gotten by with Hermes and 4 working days handling time without any defects. eBay itself says that many low-priced goods aren't worth it on the platform or can cause problems for the seller.

·2 months agoHi @nadelzauber2015
why Ebay is playing this delivery date lottery, nobody from the official side will confirm to you.
The fact is, they want to make customers believe delivery times are as fast as possible.
I myself have set a handling time of 2 days, although I usually ship on the same or the next business day. That way I can usually turn the complaints from "impatient customers" into hot air. Above all, because I now only ship with tracking and proof of delivery.

·2 months agoThe problem has existed for years, and there are already dozens of threads about it. I think that by now pretty much everyone has lost faith that it will improve.

·2 months agoEndless problem and eBay just ignores stuff like that. eBay only recommends increasing the processing time and that’s it.
However, you probably don’t have the problem with this account, so there’s nothing more that can be said about it.
It has to be written with the relevant account.

OP2 months agoOhh.......
So we’ve been lucky so far, because until last year we even had a working day until 1 p.m. ourselves (then there was the delivery from the next working day and that was totally fine) and after 1 p.m. the items were shown with the correct delivery date, i.e. from the working day after next.
So for us it’s basically new and not a problem that’s been around forever - at least for us.
We’ve now increased it to 2 days processing time and now it’s displayed correctly.
PS: Right, this here is not our seller account with a solid 6 reviews 😉
PPS: But why doesn’t Ebay care about that? It’s so simple: whoever wants to offer 1-2 day delivery does that, and whoever wants to offer 2-3 day delivery just does that. Why does Ebay create inquiries and disputes that cost the seller huge sums here? I’m just trying to understand.......

·2 months agoUnfortunately, nobody knows why eBay does that. But increasing the processing time is not an option for many sellers because that would give them even more disadvantages (visibility, listing, eBay Top-Service, for example).

well, we can of course not really KNOW for sure - but a very strong suspicion is that Ebay is trying to imitate the competition at all costs, you know, the one named after the big river.
That this only causes problems and is completely stupid on top of that, by now everyone has probably understood except the company management! 🙄
