Hello, I sold an item for €182 plus shipping through eBay and properly sent it to the delivery address stored in the eBay order.
According to the tracking, the recipient could not be found at the specified address. The shipment is now being returned to me as the sender.
I would like to know how I should proceed in this case. In particular, I would like to clarify whether I have to refund the full sale price, including the original shipping costs paid by the buyer, or whether the shipping costs can remain with the buyer because the address was apparently incorrect or undeliverable.
Also: If the buyer still wants the item and gives me a corrected address, how should I proceed so that the reshipment is covered via eBay and who bears the additional shipping costs?
The tracking clearly shows: „The recipient could not be found at the address on the shipment. The shipment is being returned to the sender.“

·1 month agoFirst of all: even if the buyer still wants the item, you must not ship it to any address other than the one listed on eBay! You lose your seller protection. In addition, the buyer might not be able to pay the shipping cost for the resend through eBay.
If you cancel the purchase, you can only issue a full refund.
However, you can refund via the purchase details (send refund) and deduct the shipping costs paid by the buyer.

·1 month agoFees are actually only refunded in the case of a complete refund, or at least only partially. It could be that the listing fee is refunded on a pro rata basis, but I’m not sure.
