Remove or cancel the unneeded DHL label
Hi everyone,
I bought and printed the wrong label, and canceling it right away was denied because it's 'in use'.
Bought another one and tried to delete the first one, but it doesn't work with 'An unknown error occurred while updating the shipment tracking. Please try again.'
Is this a temporary problem, or does canceling work once the deletion has gone through?

the status under 'Shipping labels' or the shipping history information hasn't changed, but I did receive the corresponding postage price credit. Someone seems to be on it...

After two attempts, I got a response from DHL telling me to 'contact eBay'. So it looks like the ping-pong method after all.
Why does the fact that the recipient has entered a drop-off location in their DHL account actually block the process here at eBay??

no, that’s why I’m still asking for a solution.
From eBay to DHL and back again, it’s stalled, so I’m asking the question here:

@voli-maus Only unused shipping labels can be canceled.
If I understood correctly, @m_i_a_n wrote above that he had printed out the label.

OP2 weeks agoWhat does unused mean then? With that description, is it already considered used? The tag has never left my house and is definitely not on its way anywhere.

That means if a recipient has stored a drop-off location in their DHL account , eBay thinks the shipment is on its way, so the label is in use, which it isn’t. That makes no sense and is now supposed to be the reason why label cancellation doesn’t work. eBay sends me to DHL, who send me back to eBay, and that’s not exactly fun.

I see why you can no longer cancel the label. A drop-off location was specified immediately after it was created, so the label has the status "In transit".

A drop-off location was noted as the delivery option for this shipment.
Please contact DHL here to clarify the situation, as we technically cannot issue a refund.

So the recipient was probably quick to get involved.

Have you tried deleting Cookies & Cache or testing a different browser?

no no, the unneeded label was not handed in to DHL or scanned; it just stayed at the announcement stage.
I also tried the technical options (C/C/B), but that didn’t help either.

OP3 weeks agoYes, of course. But both processes, namely canceling under 'Shipping labels' or removing the label number, still fail with the above-mentioned messages.
