Back then, it was the case that every registered member could answer questions. Today, it’s selected eBayers. And when I read some of the answers, I’m appalled and angry because the answers are not correct! Everyone should rather take the time to read eBay’s help pages and solve their problem that way!
The site has now been being turned into a high-price portal in small bite-sized steps for years. This also includes many changes that have steadily restricted user convenience. Along with that, there were always plenty of blunt comments from users in the forums. So they felt compelled to introduce access restrictions here like in MHM, first selected responders, then employees started chiming in more and more often, and meanwhile there are even official Q&A sessions. The shift of answers to employees will surely continue like that. A renewed opening of the forums to all users is rather not to be expected, because the portal will surely keep reliably providing reasons to voice criticism here. No one needs the ensuing **bleep**storm. After all, you want to maintain a pleasant self-image. I rather think it is more likely that access to the forums will be further restricted. Maybe they’ll do away with the forums altogether. Handing out a few stars is enough elsewhere too.

@der_einzig_unwahre_heino ,
hm, there’s always been trouble, and there always will be.
And yes, the verbal battles were sometimes below all oink.
That won’t change.
That’s how it will stay.
That eBay employees can be tagged, I personally think is very good: they have insight into the specific case of a user asking for help.
The operator of the community is not eBay, but Koros.
That’s known to you, @der_einzig_unwahre_heino
Koros also runs a community for other companies.
Well, and there too you have to watch your wording, otherwise people will “complain”

Hello @der_einzig_unwahre_heino, I’m really very sorry that this impression of eBay has been created for you 😔. Please believe me: We are constantly working to improve both eBay itself and our community – for all members 💛.
I actually find the term "access restrictions" inappropriate in this context. We have a single board in which only qualified members and eBay employees can respond – and there is a clear reason for that: It is meant to ensure the best possible, professionally correct support. At the same time, the board "Members help Members" is fully open to ALL members. Anyone can ask questions or join the discussion there at any time. By the way, this board has existed for over ten years and is still our most active area across the entire community 💬✨.
Also, I was honestly surprised that the weekly Q&A session – which is happening again today, by the way – is perceived negatively 🤔. It allows direct contact with eBay, where you can have all your questions answered by employees. Many members really appreciate this format because it enables open exchange.
You write: "A reopening of the forums for all users is rather not to be expected." May I ask: Where exactly are you excluded from discussions or questions? There is no area in the community where members are not allowed to ask questions.
The accusation that we do not want criticism (of course always based on 📋our community netiquette📋) has no basis whatsoever. The opposite is the case: A lively exchange – critical, constructive, honest – between the members and also directly with us as employees is extremely important to us 💬🤝. If we did not value our community, eBay would have abolished it давно – after all, it is neither free nor a given.
I completely understand that eBay has changed a lot over the years and that some changes don’t go over well with everyone. Factual criticism is important, and we listen to it. But please let’s look together at what is really happening: exchange is taking place, questions can be asked, criticism is voiced and heard – every day.
If something is missing for you, something bothers you, or you have specific suggestions for improvement: Please write it! We’re here to listen and find solutions together 💡🙂.

I’m afraid I don’t know everything either, but I do try to give the answers that I consider to be “correct.” There may definitely be times when I’m not exactly sure, because it was a long time ago.
Another complication is that one of my parrots recently took apart the laptop keyboard as a 3D puzzle, and I’ve put all the parts back together except for the keys for "TDN".
Oh, and one more thing: under the section "Members help members" I and several others can’t write.
So, I’ve now talked enough "nonsense" here. And I wish everyone a nice rest of the Sunday.

That’s not true! There are only very few boards where not all users can reply!
And yes, I’d also be in favor of people turning to the eBay help first, but who actually does that? And who maybe bothers to use a search engine? Hardly anyone, because here you get everything served on a plate without having to do anything for it - apart from asking, of course.
The community consists to a large extent of supervised buying and selling 😞 unfortunately.
And I can’t really complain about incorrect answers. Do you have a specific example?

I doubt that the OP @dorismotorrad will show up here again after more than a month and a half.
The thread was brought back from hibernation again around noon today. 😉

actually, it’s pretty simple:
just apply yourself to the community team for a spot on the mentor team.

·8 months ago-Oh, one more thing under the heading "Members help members" I and some others cannot post.-
Yes, sometimes I’d also like to post there or even try to help.
But if the answer doesn’t suit the person asking, or if someone has a different opinion or knowledge,
then the complaining and grumbling often starts, and then I think to myself; do I really need that?
I probably can live well without it.
I like being here, read along a lot and sometimes I write something too.
But being the "advisor" for some "advice-resistant" person for a long time or over an extended period
would be too much stress for me.
I’m glad that there are people here who sacrifice their time and patience to help
and sometimes I’m also amazed at the great knowledge that some mentor has.
Just my opinion.
voli-maus
·8 months agoAnd sometimes mentors are so massively snapped at / insulted / slandered and even more that you have to swallow hard at first.
Well, some people can let out their tirades of hate so anonymously.
Face to face, it would probably be different.

·8 months agoWell ...
I’ve been trying for ages ... in members helping members, to become a member.
Nothing is happening.
The last attempt ... well, let’s leave it at that, it was the last one now.
I’d rather have my comments edited ... 99% into nirvana.
So in that place there’s only a fraction of the ones who shouldcouldmust be there.
Instead, more AI-filtered and prettied up, the rest that then comes out.
That’s not meant badly now, just my own sarcasm.
As always.
P.S.:
