Expired auctions cannot be accessed
In the search for ended auctions, the original auction page cannot be accessed. Or auctions saved as bookmarks in the browser are no longer accessible after they end. In each case, there is only a redirect to a similar listing, which most users are probably not interested in anyway.
The behavior of the eBay pages is different here – eBay comes across as not very confident and not very credible. This appearance does not fit a reliable and reputable trading partner, as users expect here.
I would like to politely ask eBay to once again fully enable access to expired auctions.

Doesn't work, the tech is acting up here and it can't all be down to the data junk.

Thank you for your post. If the listing is ended by the seller themselves, the original listing page is automatically deactivated and can no longer be accessed afterward.

OP9 months agoNo, the auction is shown with its result in ended auctions, but its auction page is not; there it immediately redirects to an active auction, but the link that takes you to the ended auction is not shown.

Maybe try deleting your browser data or using a different browser.
With this search in Chrome, I can open the ended listings:

OP9 months agoRight, I can also open this auction page in that case. But what is shown when you open this link: https://www.ebay.de/itm/157420157102 ? Does it show you a used Apple Watch 7 41 mm case with Milanese strap stainless steel, GPS + Cellular 157420157102| eBay.de, which was sold for 106 €? I was only able to determine the price in a roundabout way via the following search: https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_nkw=Apple+Watch+7+41mm&_sacat=0&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1
But even with this search I don’t get to the original auction page; instead, rather inappropriately, I am redirected to an equivalent product, but at a price that doesn’t interest me right now.
The question remains: Why does eBay handle this differently?

The watch mentioned in your first link has a different item number 2321029548
than the one in the 2nd link.
If I search for an ended item with the item number 157420157102, I use the advanced search:
With a click on the listing description, I can also see the original item.

OP9 months agoIt’s fine. But I usually don’t look up an auction by the auction number. I save the link in bookmarks, and that should work. Only sometimes it just doesn’t. eBay should please explain that to me if that’s how it’s supposed to be. Or it should fix the error.
I already brought up this topic in June; it led to a pretty heated discussion with other annoyed users. After that, everything seemed to work again. So why not now again?

pay specific attention to when the ended offer is no longer directly accessible, or whether it’s only the offers in which catalog data was used
