As a business buyer request an invoice from a seller
I have another, better suggestion:
If there were a checkbox somewhere in the purchase form saying "This is a commercial purchase", and then, with the checkbox ticked, the seller were automatically sent the business address stored with eBay along with the VAT ID, the whole process would be much easier for everyone!
We have a commercial eBay account and also use it to buy things for the company, but about half of the invoices we receive are "wrong", as described by the original poster.
Especially bad: sellers from abroad (EU) only write their own VAT ID (e.g. Poland) and then refer to the OSS procedure, but our tax advisor CANNOT post VAT if our VAT ID is not also on the invoice.
However, it is not there because it is not automatically transmitted by eBay.
From customer service I recently got the "excuse": We don't know whether the purchase was private or commercial.
So that's my suggestion above, with the hope that it will be implemented.
There are already sellers who write in their listings "The invoice cannot be changed after purchase completion" - a disaster for commercial buyers, because the VAT has to be paid out of your own pocket. That simply doesn't work at all. But it seems we have to live with it.

·1 year agoIt would actually be extremely helpful if, as a corporate buyer, you could automatically receive a valid invoice from the seller.
We would buy more through ebay, but you always have to hope that the seller sends an invoice when requested. Here, **bleep** has a clear advantage.

Hello @spectra_gmbh and thank you for this idea, which I will of course pass on to the relevant colleagues.

Hello @4kane, the request to automatically receive an invoice with every purchase on eBay has been passed on again ✅. Unfortunately, we haven't received any feedback on this yet.
As soon as there is any change, it will most likely be communicated here in the official eBay announcements as well:

·8 months agoDear @steffi@ebay
that would really be nice.
For that, though, eBay would have to manage to finally offer an invoice form that complies with the law.
Strangely enough, there was one up until the switch to the "new" dreadful one....

Hello @321bestparts, I absolutely understand how important this topic is to you. 🙏
Unfortunately, I still haven't received any feedback from the responsible colleagues. But because I can understand your points – especially with regard to the comparison with the earlier solution before the changeover – I will pass your feedback along again as an update. ✅
The more specific the feedback, the more helpful it is – so thank you for taking the time to describe it so clearly! I’ll keep at it and hope to be able to give some constructive feedback soon.
