Article posting date. We are not guinea pigs
Summary: bigzmej expressed frustration with eBay's changes that remove item posting dates, making it harder to find new listings. df3vi agreed and raised concerns about needing to allow third-party scripts. hasjana clarified that Bevy is hosting eBay forums, while bixtron noticed new badges indicating recently listed items. petersmodellbahnstuebchen shared a workaround using Chrome. The discussion highlights user dissatisfaction with inconsistent eBay updates across different browsers and devices.
How long and what for is this improvement-turned-worsening? Until everyone’s had enough and stops complaining? Then someone can write “It’s going over well with users!”
This is already the third time that the date/time details disappear and needlessly make it harder to search for newly listed items.
It’s disgusting how eBay treats users.

·2 weeks agoHey @bigzmej
when I use the following search, I can definitely see when an item was newly listed:

OP2 weeks ago · EditedWOW! Which browser are you using?
Could it possibly be the browser?
I just tested it in Firefox and in Samsung Browser (both Android) - both without setting a date :(
Apparently eBay wants to force us to use a browser "of their choice".

OP2 weeks agoHey Peter, thanks for the tip - it worked!
Too bad that there, "Open link in new tab" is always opened in the background and a change is not предусмотрed.
Deepseek says that this is intentional in order to keep the user in their own ecosystem for as long as possible and force as many interactions as possible.
Thanks eBay, for offering us this "great option"!

well, you can't have everything. It doesn't bother me.

·1 week agoEven stranger: It’s not the browser, because on another computer that also uses Firefox, the same page with the Buy It Now filter is displayed properly...
Probably even eBay doesn’t know what’s actually happening there?
bigzmej
OP1 week agoI haven't checked it on desktop PCs.
On mobile, Samsung Browser doesn't show Buy It Now prices, but Firefox does!
I also tested other browsers with the Chromium engine: Kiwi shows the listing date, but opens the tabs in the background. Vivaldi opens tabs in the foreground, but doesn't show the listing date.
It's really annoying... which eBay "strategists" came up with this nonsense of "Just listed/ Listed yesterday" :(

·1 week agoOn eBay, the same page apparently exists in different versions, which even changes depending on the user. A number of little things add up that almost confirm it...

·2 weeks ago · EditedI’ve noticed that too, I also use Opera and Firefox sometimes, and it can happen that botched “improvements” show up in only one browser for days while the other is still running normally...
bixtron
·2 weeks agoeBay seems to have removed that — for whatever reason. Now we have these new ads:
For offers that were listed within the last 3 days, there’s now also a badge similar to the "x items already sold" one. It then says "Newly listed in the last 3 days," or something like that. Though right now I don’t see any of these badges on my listings at all anymore, not even the Buy It Now button... You discover something new here every day :-)

·2 weeks ago · EditedTotally agree, I just saw it too with quite a bit of frustration, and I'm wondering: WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN???
And the same question also applies to this page here: Why do I now have to allow scripts from an UNKNOWN THIRD PARTY to me (Bevylabs.com) in order to be able to use a page on EBAY.DE???
