Since it had previously been assumed that this was a bug — namely that additional offers remain active after a price suggestion has been accepted — and it has now been confirmed that this is a new feature, I’m opening this thread.
In my opinion, this new feature should be disabled. An accepted price suggestion creates a legally valid and binding purchase contract — regardless of whether the item has already been paid for or not.
If this change remains in place, it will no longer be possible for me as a seller to send or accept price suggestions in any meaningful way.

Information from eBay is urgently needed, especially since not everyone here finds their way to the forum. Even if this is only a test phase, that does not relieve the seller of their legal obligations.
By accepting a price suggestion, you enter into a binding purchase contract. Therefore, I consider this new feature unnecessary, as it can cause more problems for sellers. If, in the meantime, another buyer purchases the item via Buy It Now, the other buyer whose offer I accepted can legally claim the item. I don't think eBay will cover these costs then. Therefore, I cannot currently accept any price suggestions, or I have to manually reduce the stock, which of course means even more effort.

The item has not yet been paid for.
I can’t contact the buyer. What are you supposed to do now? Cancel the sale?
What I find bad is that eBay is taking absolutely no action.

I completely agree with you. Even if it's only meant to be a test phase for now, before rolling it out further there has to be a way for the seller to disable the requirement for immediate payment.
In my opinion, it is also absolutely necessary to inform the affected sellers during the test phase and to publish corresponding seller news before the final rollout.
