Has someone at ebay in charge completely lost their mind, or why am I now being bombarded with ads in my own watch list too?
Every single item is now interrupted by massive ads, amusingly even for items I already bought here - the overview is now completely gone. And the list is now about 150% longer!
Can you please, please, please take care of the countless problems instead of constantly ruining the interface again?
I'm really sorry, but under these circumstances I won't be able to use ebay for shopping much longer. You destroy your now few remaining advantages with your unbearable urge to tinker.

·8 months agoHey. Nothing has changed there. But on almost every page there’s some thing like: "How do you like the page?" I’ve already written quite a bit there and if everyone did that, the programmers would be so buried in junk that they’d work better

·1 year agoAbsolutely annoying, I can choose similar articles myself, and when deleting in the watchlist, the **bleep** ad jumps back and forth, which only makes deleting unnecessarily more difficult and time-consuming. Why isn't one asked whether one wants something like this, or how do I deactivate this crap??

why one isn’t asked should actually be obvious - who likes to be bombarded with ads voluntarily?
So eBay simply behaves the way that seems best to eBay for maximizing profits. After all, as a buyer you’re supposed to buy, not just watch. I’ve now greatly restricted my buying activity on eBay because, on the one hand, I’m done with my collecting topic and, on the other hand, I no longer get shown any really interesting items. I no longer had the last purchases here shown to me via my saved searches, but only via external search engines like Google. So I haven’t really even noticed the ads themselves yet, because I hardly watch any items on eBay anymore.
I also have to honestly say personally that advertising has a negative connotation for me - in principle, it has exactly the opposite effect on me. I consistently ignore advertised items...

OP1 year agoHuh! How do you manage to select multiple/all of them? Regex?
In the meantime, I thought I’d get rid of my data corpses on eBay and deleted my 80 or so sellers (what irony, on the gloomy page showing the current listings would actually have made sense):
The saved searches are something my browser handles better than these talentless tinkerers anyway:
It was 90% false alarms anyway...

I can't suggest anything there, and I also really think it's OK that you're bringing up and voicing this mess.
But I assume that Ebay gets so much money for these ads that they don't care whether you get upset about it or whether you buy something or not. Ebay lives off the commercial sellers, and we private users don't really count for much with our concerns, especially since they don't make anything from us.

·1 year agoThis advertising annoys me sometimes so much that I remove everything with the U Block Picker.
Unfortunately, that only helps for a short time with the advertising in the middle of the offers.
Luckily, the normal advertising on the Ebay page is blocked permanently, otherwise Ebay would no longer be usable.
For someone like me, who usually shops with a clear purpose, this advertising junk is rather counterproductive.
Then I leave Ebay and prefer to buy directly in a shop.
There I have my peace and only pay slightly more.

OP1 year agoThanks, but could you please also pass on to them:
1. It is counterproductive - I already buy quite a lot on ebay and this ad nonsense is not only affecting but even preventing further purchases.
2. Please make it unmistakably clear to them that the customer is furious about this unwanted interference in his own private space and is flirting with cancelling.

passing on the suggestion for improvement still hasn't brought about any change after 5 weeks. Why don't you change it yourself in the system? If you want to make a difference, you need comprehensive rights at eBay. Writing friendly texts alone isn't enough. You have to assert yourself internally.
Your company is no exception on the internet: customers are kept as far away as possible, and real contact with meaningful content is not wanted.
