Targeted watchlist entry on an individual category is a thing of the past?
I have not yet received any feedback on my topic restart and am therefore asking the community again what the ebay CEOs’ reasons were for why items viewed again in individually created watchlist categories no longer appear in a blue highlighted bar (specific marking list). It does nothing for me to see symbol hearts in a search list, which are “presumably” then filled in solid black, because they may be located in a special list I’ve created for myself.
The new bar display is pure promotion that has eliminated the “user watchlist entry”:
The introduced “heartfelt innovation” in ebay’s search listing is a user interface that has been worsened for ebay users and should be rolled back.
Looking forward to feedback from the community.

Hello @sensor95 and sorry that you don’t see this global change to watchlists as something positive for you. I’ve shared your criticism about the bar, which now has a different role, with the responsible team, thanks for that.
Whether an item has already been added to one of your watchlists can also be seen on the respective item pages by the blue filled-in heart on the listing image.
It is uncertain whether this display will remain the same in the future, as we are continuously checking how the changes we’ve made are being received by you. By the way, you’re also welcome to share your thoughts additionally via the question mark at the bottom right on the item pages or via Your opinion .
Kind regards
Miriam

·1 year agoHello,
quick question:
How is a user supposed to understand that changes are being made all the time, but errors that have also been identified are not being fixed.
That’s already bordering on indifference, isn’t it, or am I seeing that wrong?

That's nothing new.

·1 year agoWhat annoys me more is that Ebay has the capacity to keep making changes, but apparently it isn’t possible to fix major platform errors despite users pointing them out.
Really makes me think.....

Hello @halenka_uwe2xto! It is absolutely understandable that it can be frustrating when detected errors are not fixed right away. I want to assure you that this is not due to a lack of interest. At eBay there are many different teams working on different projects and ideas, all of which want to find their place on our platform. Sometimes, for example, this means that a feature that has been running stably up to now suddenly causes problems because something new has been implemented. While this is annoying, it reflects a reality that all online platforms have to face every day.
Often priorities also have to be set regarding which changes or bug fixes are addressed first, based on various factors such as resource availability, impact on all users, and technical feasibility.
Please be aware that it is in everyone's interest to keep improving eBay continuously and remain competitive as an online marketplace.
The watchlists as such still work, only the display has changed. In addition to my response from yesterday, I can also say that you still have the option to save the item to a watchlist on the right next to the item image - this also works in the eBay app. You can also see there on which of your own lists the item has already been saved. The responsible team has informed me that they are still working on the details and that the improvement suggestions received so far via our eBay.de Community are being taken into account accordingly.
Kind regards
Miriam

·1 year agomaybe the number of tinkering teams should be reduced to those that really only fix bugs
those that want to justify their existence through unnecessary botched improvements / design changes can, in my view, be dispensed with

OP1 year agoHi Miriam,
thanks for accepting my "user complaint". As a chronic eBay user, I have logically created >12 watchlist categories, and currently I only get shown "a heart icon" when viewing an item, indicating that the item I opened is in a watchlist. For me as a user, that is simply a totally worsened user interface, the usefulness of which I have not yet been able to understand . . . THANK YOU for passing this on internally to the community members.

Sure, @sensor95, and great to hear back from you! Could you please also confirm that you don’t see the list in which a called-up item is already saved through the dropdown menu next to the watchlist button on the respective item page?
Does your feedback only refer to the desktop view, or do you also use the eBay app?
Best regards
Miriam

I can work with that, so you're only talking about the “observation bar” on the article pages that fell victim to the design change. Thanks a lot for the feedback, @sensor95! 🙂
