the system for price suggestions needs to be revised. We’ve put some thought into it and want to share that here with eBay.
1. If a seller sends price suggestions, they should be able to choose the quantity and also decide for themselves on the percentage of the discount (including less than 5%). This should also be possible in the "low price range".
Explanation:
For some sellers, it is not worthwhile to give a 5% discount or more. If they could determine the quantity themselves or send a suggestion for a specific quantity, it would also be more worthwhile.
Footnote: If a seller receives a message from a buyer about a specific item, it is possible for the seller to enter a quantity other than "1" and send a price suggestion. eBay’s argument that less than 5% discount or a quantity greater than 1 confuses buyers is simply not true. It means that prices can be made more attractive and more sales revenue is generated for sellers.
2. eBay should include text in price suggestions sent by the seller to the potential buyer, explaining that if they decline or simply do not respond, the seller cannot send them a better offer.
Explanation:
When a seller sends a price suggestion, the potential buyer has 48 hours to accept it, send a counteroffer, or decline it. After that, the seller no longer has a chance to make an offer to the potential customer. No further price suggestion should also be possible, because some potential buyers on eBay are bothered by this, but it must be made clear that after that the seller has no further chance to send an offer.
Footnote: It would be an advantage for both sides. The seller can sell and the buyer gets a good offer. Negotiating would happen again and eBay would partly return to the good old days when people negotiated and more eBay users enjoyed it.
3. The time that a seller or buyer has to respond to a price suggestion should be set UNIFORMLY to 72 hours.
Explanation: If the seller sends a price suggestion, the potential buyer has 48 hours to respond. That is too little time for the potential buyer to respond properly and appropriately, because not everyone has time right away; some want to research other prices first and only then respond.
If an interested party sends a price suggestion to the seller, then the seller has 24 or 48 hours (we’re not exactly sure at the moment) to respond. Too short, because there is also the weekend and a company is not always open on weekends, or there is not always an employee sitting there on weekends just to respond to price suggestions.
If the seller then sends a counteroffer to the interested party, that person has only 24 hours to respond. That is far too little time for someone who works, sleeps, and has other things to do to respond.
Footnote: Simply 72 hours for all price suggestions / counteroffers and everyone has enough time.
Conclusion: It is a change that can work to everyone’s satisfaction if eBay implements it that way too. eBay should move away from its rigid track and take new paths, because as many sellers and buyers on eBay can see, it no longer works like this.

Hello @myeatnordic! Thanks for drawing attention to this topic again in our Q&A session yesterday. I had not yet sent off the feedback that had already been prepared, but that was taken care of today 🙂.
The decision that the amount must be at least 5% below the Buy It Now price was made deliberately so that the offer is attractive for your potential customers. Based on the community reactions we received in the past, we had already passed on your request for a reduction in the minimum discount internally accordingly.
