Difference in the displayed offers: "normal, old" view: gallery view
Summary: goldeifel wonders why there is a difference in the number of articles shown in different views of their profile. While all 113 articles are visible in the list view, only 106 are shown in the gallery view. perfect-sally reports a similar problem and suspects a known bug. lidor3073 confirms differing displays of 107 to 113 articles and suspects a bug. stubenkram also notices discrepancies and explains that changes to offers could delay visibility, which lidor3073 finds obstructive. The discrepancy remains unresolved, but all participants share similar experiences.
First of all, a friendly hello to everyone,
I have no idea whether I’ve landed in the right category here.
My question is:
at the moment I have 112 listings posted, which are shown to me in (my) normal list view
If I click on my name, the listings appear in gallery view, and 106 offers are shown.
It also says clearly above: Search all 106 listings
incidentally, the sorting is completely different too. That wouldn’t bother me if at least all active listings were shown.
How does this difference come about?
It can’t be due to a delay from recreating, because I only “re-listed” yesterday evening. Although that was also more than 6 listings. In the list view, all of them are shown anyway. There aren’t any duplicates either.
I don’t get it.
Can that be right, or is it just a display error and outsiders could see 113 listings?
Could that possibly be fixed?
I’d be grateful for an explanation or some help
Kind regards
goldeifel
OP1 month agoHello @lidor3073 + @stubenkram ,
The causes of delayed visibility seem to be varied and will probably have to be accepted as is, thanks to automation.
It all basically falls under: "that's just the way it is"
Thanks to you both for dealing with this so intensively, and please forgive my faux pas :
" You confused lidor3070 with me. She phrased it aptly, not me. 😉"
You both phrased it aptly ❣️😉

OP1 month agoThanks a lot for checking too @stubenkram ,
as I already wrote, this whole thing is not understandable, especially since it contradicts: Your article is now listed (or something like that).
My interpretation: now listed = online = visible
What a fallacy

You mixed up lidor3070 with me. She phrased it very nicely, not me. 😉
I don’t think eBay is trying to prevent you from selling that way, @lidor3073 I also still remember from back then that already posted listings only became visible and listed for viewers several hours later. But it didn’t take that long back then.
One problem now also seems to be that when changes are made to the listing - e.g. when correcting the shipping costs - the waiting time starts all over again until a listing becomes visible to everyone.

When this happens is completely random, there’s no fixed rule. But if the title line is changed, the Cassini algorithm starts up again. For me, that’s very annoying.

Even when it’s re-published normally, it doesn’t show up right away. 😕 Sometimes, not always.

OP1 month agoHello @lidor3073 and thanks to you too for checking,
Now it’s getting even more absurd. Depending on the "call type" and device, everyone apparently sees something different.
And how is one supposed to believe anything at all after that?
(okay, okay, we’re on Ebay and not in church)
Humor is when you can still laugh.

·1 month ago@goldeifel Readable I also see 107 articles displayed. But if I count up the preview thumbnails, of which 48 offers are visible on each full page and only 15 on the last page, that makes 48 + 48 + 15 = 111 offers.
I’m just guessing that the display of the 107 offers is lagging a bit and maybe one of your offers is not yet visible.

That’s also a long-known problem, that eBay wants to prevent you from selling and only shows some listings 24-48 hours later, DESPITE them being active.
@goldeifel and I already checked that using my listings. And I’m not selling plutonium or coke or anything like that, so I can’t make sense of it.
Contradictory to me: They want you to sell as quickly as possible (commission calling, even if private sellers don’t pay anything), yet on the other hand they hinder you. You’d like to understand it, but you can’t.

OP1 month agoHello @stubenkram you're putting it very aptly.
Contradictions at every turn.
Ebay -special, that's just how it is, you can't do anything about it.
After all, we agreed to everything. (Including the botched-up stuff) 🙊

OP1 month agoThanks for your reply and test check@perfect-sally ,
Now I don’t understand anything anymore. But at least one more person is visible.
I also vaguely remembered that this phenomenon had already come up before.
Before my question I’d looked into whether I could find something about it in the depths of the forum, nope, that was a complete waste of time .
If I draw the conclusion that invisibility can also apply to GVKs, then “good night”,...
they live off sales and have much more important hurdles to overcome, apart from the immense costs they have to shoulder.
Still, the question remains: Why is it like that and why is nobody dealing with fixing it

Very strange: Here I see 113 offers on the button.

·1 month agoHello @goldeifel
I currently see 107 offers for you, no matter which sorting I use.
It’s been like that for me for a very long time too, with apparently not all items being shown. I think Patrick commented on it a long time ago too, but that was still in the "old community" and I don’t know anything else about it either.
