FSK 18 article, okay for some, not for others... joke?
I have a question because I’m feeling pretty screwed over by eBay right now. I list a PS4 console with FSK18 games, with DHL shipping and age verification, as a private seller, and then eBay deletes the listing with the note that FSK 18 items are only allowed with proof of age via DHL blah blah. Okay, fair enough, I did everything I was supposed to, but whatever! It was just decided that way, okay, that’s how it is. Now I see more consoles with FSK18 games (also private, even the exact same games!!!!) with normal shipping... So I thought, hmm, okay, let’s report it, why is that okay there and not with me... and now I’m seriously being told that everything is fine with that offer. And that it doesn’t violate eBay’s principles. What kind of clowns are they, please ;O So to put it briefly: if I turn the case 90°, a title for 18+ turns into a title for everyone, no matter the age. Apart from that, because so many 12-year-olds supposedly order regularly on eBay anyway. The rule is pretty lousy to begin with^^

if nothing has changed, it is actually a basic requirement for listing USK/FSK 18 media that they are offered in a category that provides the age rating as a filter. For example DVD/Blu-ray or video games.
If I'm not mistaken, this filter does not exist for consoles (i.e. the actual devices). So you would have to offer consoles and USK18 games separately from each other.
And your listing was deleted because it was reported. And it violates the principles.

OP1 year agoThanks for the message, which unfortunately doesn't make any sense, as stated above it is also a private seller, same console, same FSK18 games, but okay, I think the answer somehow does answer everything after all. Apparently eBay "principles" are a thing depending on who is currently handling it. Especially since it says that I did follow the guidelines. But fine. PS; It's hard to stick to principles when decisions are simply made arbitrarily. Still, thanks for the attempt^^ but that's fine

Hello @blackzero-21! Are the offers you are observing possibly items from commercial sellers? If so, for commercial sellers the sale of such items is permitted under certain conditions. When listing items, please do not base them on other eBay users' offers, but on eBay's principles. In doing so, you make a significant contribution to ensuring safe and fair trading on eBay.
If, in your view, offers are not permitted and still have not been ended, please let us know by reporting the offer or by filing an appeal against the decision made once again.
Kind regards
Miriam

·1 year agoJust a minute, FSK18 is under what circumstances no longer FSK18?
Can I now just hawk my old sleazy DVDs here? (No, I once got them as a joke gift.)
You make a significant contribution to making safe and fair trading on eBay understandable.
