IOSS on international purchases: VAT charged twice + high handling fees | Suggestions and Feedback on the eBay Platform

Hello everyone,I’d like to give some feedback on international purchases via eBay (IOSS).In my case, VAT was paid correctly through eBay at the time of purchase.However, it was charged again upon import, in addition to high handling fees from the shipping provider (~€30).While the VAT can be reclaimed via eBay, the additional fees remain with the buyer – even though there was no mistake on the buyer’s side.Experiences like this make international purchases financially hard to calculate and reduce the willingness to place more cross-border orders via eBay, especially from Japan.Perhaps better protection here or a goodwill mechanism would make sense to strengthen trust in checkout for international purchases.Kind regards
