Disastrous view of sold items
Hey everyone,
for a short time now, some extremely "creative" people have been tinkering with the item view. If I now open a product page under Orders (sold items), the first two lines look like this:
Aside from the fact that I think such design fiddling should be ranked 11,237th on the priority list given the currently open issues, the result is so bad that it already hurts to look at. But apparently eBay IT has
1. too much time on their hands and
2. no clue
how to design an appealing page.
And if you didn’t know that it says "View purchase details" at the top right, you’d be looking for it for ages.
So overall it looks like a kindergarten for 3-year-olds gave painting a try.
I’d like to apologize now to all the kindergartens in the country for that last sentence. You would have made it all prettier, more colorful, brighter, and more appealing, maybe even with a few flowers, a unicorn and ....
With that in mind, dear eBay tech, keep it up🤣, but please look at the results of your work before putting them into production.

Speaks to how seriously Ebay takes our reports.

Here the "color devil" doesn’t seem to have run wild completely yet, so you can even read it without any trouble.

For me, all of this is always very confusing and I think,
I wouldn't be able to sell here.
Just the search for my sold items alone
would overwhelm me.. I wouldn't look for them under *orders*
but would search for the heading *sold items*.
*orders* and *sold items* are 2 different terms for me.
Why not call things by their proper name? The clearer, the fewer
misinterpretations.
I admire all sellers who manage to find their way through this jungle of terms
.

it’s not that confusing, it would just be nice if everyone could agree on a consistent wording. But that’s probably due to the German translations.
On the seller side it looks like this:
Here I have a block with the items I’m offering for sale (listings) and a block that shows me the sales (orders)
On the buying side it looks a little different:
Here I find a list of my purchases, but these are also called orders again when I want to search something in my purchases list. So on one page, 2 terms for the same process. 😉
But once you get used to it, it’s no big deal.

You're welcome.
It's just as described below, probably due to the German translation.
ERP software such as SAP, for example, makes a strict distinction in English between sales order (sales order or customer order) and purchase order (order).
I would have preferred it if eBay had stuck with the old translation.
