combined search function for combined shipping
Hello and good morning,
once again I'm sitting at the computer and need several things.
One option is to buy everything separately and pay multiple vendors separately (including shipping multiple times).
Wouldn´t it make sense to be able to enter multiple items already in the search function and at the same time limit the search to vendors/members who have all the items you're looking for on offer?
Best regards Thomas

Hello @attakketom and thanks for your suggestion! What you’re envisioning is something I haven’t seen with any other search engines (e.g. Google) so far. eBay is a marketplace with a diverse range of products from different sellers and not a seller itself. You have the option to use the shopping cart and only pay once you have everything together. You can also use the advanced search to look for sellers directly or access them via your watch lists and browse their eBay profiles.
Maybe these tips will help you further – in my assessment, the chances of a change in this direction are rather slim at the moment.
Thanks for taking the time to share this thought here and best regards
Miriam

That would certainly make sense, but whether eBay’s outdated and already hopelessly overloaded software could handle it is another matter.
Half of my purchases over the last 12 months happened on eBay only because I searched for the item on Google; on eBay, 50% of the items I bought weren’t shown to me at all, for whatever reason.
I actually know such a filter, like the one you’re talking about, from some price comparison sites, where you can save your wishlist and then search for the cheapest provider for all saved items.
I quite like using this in the computer area - although shipping costs there are often negligible, even if you have to pay 8.99 euros for a DHL parcel, it’s still definitely worth ordering each item, or almost each item, separately because of the sometimes high double-digit price differences. Of course, it’s all a matter of weighing things up...
I last had this here on eBay eight years ago, when I needed some small parts for my model railway. There was no one who had everything on offer either, and being a born miser, I then spent an entire weekend in front of the PC putting together the cheapest offers, where the price differences between the individual providers didn’t outweigh the savings from possible combined shipping.
