You can no longer see when an article was posted in the search results

On the right, the date and time were shown next to each listing in the search results, indicating when the item was posted. Since yesterday, that’s gone. Can that be turned back on? I need that, because I want to see what’s been newly posted since my last visit.
For example, I search for "Sailor Moon" or Latitude 5285 with the sorting set to Newly posted.

·3 weeks agoNow the display has disappeared again and it is once more showing how many minutes/hours/days ago an article was posted.
That makes me wonder how people can claim that this is a bug.

·1 month agoIf everyone could see right away how incredibly long many items have been circling around here unsold, that would be great for buyers. The slow sellers would be easy to identify. But this isn’t about the buyers here, after all.

Sorry, but I don't understand the question
With this question I just want to point out that the search for newly posted articles can increasingly be “distorted” by providers who repost their articles every day.
But that’s what happens when the focus is on shareholders and the capitalist system.
That may be unfortunate from a collector’s point of view, but in my opinion it applies equally to all other platforms.

I don’t know how you feel about it, but when shareholders and investors suddenly start exerting influence over a platform or a company that have absolutely nothing to do with them and aren’t interested in the company itself or the users, but are solely concerned with profits and profit shares.
What do you think, why are especially commercial sellers on eBay being milked so much?
Because there are extremely greedy people who want to be financially involved in everything without contributing anything productive.
They buy in and want to profit from other people’s work and share in their 'harvest'.
If that’s fun for you, fine, you all seem to be satisfied with it. :D

that’s your opinion, but think about how the market value and the results of Ebay worldwide fit together. And the platform is commercial, after all. Either you come to terms with that or you leave it be.
There have already been enough results on that in the past, and this trend can’t be stopped anymore.
That’s just the way of the world and of internet platforms. I don’t want to comment here on any further points from the past.
Online retail is just a "cutthroat competition" between many small ones and a few big ones. Nobody takes any consideration for sellers or buyers like you and me.

What does searching for "newly listed" get you?
Depending on the shop model, a seller can list their offers as often as they want. And that would mean they’d always be "newly listed" again and again.

Doesn't that explain itself, why someone searches for newly listed items?
If, for example, as a collector you check every day or twice a week to see what's new, then you logically sort by newly listed items so that they are shown first. You already know the rest, and that's exactly why you also want to see the exact date and time.
For example, you last checked on 11/8 at 5 p.m. and look again today at 2 p.m. to see what's new. That way you could see exactly until when you had to check, namely until 11/8 at 5 p.m. Now it just says "listed 3 days ago".
Where's the logic in that?

It's just obvious that for eBay the main users who also made eBay big and who eBay was originally meant for are no longer relevant at all, namely collectors.
You can also see that from the fact that eBay is increasingly shifting its focus to platforms like Amazon and treating purchases as orders.
But that's what happens when the focus is on shareholders and the capitalist system.

OP1 month agoIt's exactly the same for me too. I check every day to see what’s new because, for example, I collect Sailor Moon stuff. So I regularly look in so I don’t miss rare items that can disappear quickly. I’ve been doing that for many years now. That’s why the tech nerds who turned it off should fix it again.

By the way, the display is now back to how it used to be, so the date set with the time.

·1 month agoIf you sort by newly posted articles, it now shows "posted x minutes/hours/days ago," which I consider completely nonsensical. What does a user get out of knowing that an article was posted 3 hours or 6 days ago? Personally, I want to see the posting date and time in the search results.
Why change that at all?
I don't get it, who keeps coming up with these absurd ideas?

·1 month agoA date only appears in the list for articles that have been listed for a while. At first it says "xx hours/days ago"...
And that also doesn't appear with every browser.

·1 month agoI suspect this isn't intentional, but once again a bug at ebay.
So far there was also an additional message that the date & time of listing were not displayed in the sorting of search results, which I can also confirm.
@mia@ebay is anything known about this? Thanks
