Annoying ads from eBay when logging in
@miriam@ebay
Hi Miriam,
for several days now, I’ve been annoyed every time I log in by irritating ads for listings:

If these only showed up once, or if there were also an option "Don’t show again" instead of just "Continue", that would be fine.
But as it is now, I have to click away this "nonsense" several times a day, and not just when logging in, but also when I open the Performance tab in VCP.
You’ll understand that a user who feels harassed like this is certainly not interested in taking a closer look at this ad.
So just turn off this nonsense or add the "Don’t show again" option
Best regards from the Baltic Sea
Peter

·1 year agoHello everyone,
apart from the advertising, I get an email in my inbox almost every 2-3 days offering me a loan.
Before I would take out a loan, I would go to my bank and speak face to face with a real person / clerk, and not just wrap something up online in a few clicks within minutes—no adult can be that NAIVE.
Just bring back fees for EVERYONE, you may lose countless sellers again, but money will come in again and that way you can also relieve many merchants and do away with this ad nonsense. Just sleep on it for one night and present it to the people in charge.
Kind regards and have a nice weekend.

Like with so many things here.
A like or dislike like that would be
a good thing.

@petersmodellbahnstuebchenis not alone.
I even have to click away 2 things.
That annoys me every day!
First "passkey" and then "merchant financing"
Does Ebay actually think I might be tempted to take out a loan for Ebay goods?

OP2 years agoHello @primanovo ,
hello @miriam@ebay
for me too, first comes "passkey" and then the advertising, and if I'm unlucky, the rest comes back when I open "Performance". Just plain annoying. Here, in other posts about the topic of price suggestions, there's talk about aggressive advertising. And what does eBay do???

Thanks also for your feedback, @primanovo and @erwerbsregel - the emotional situation you described in this regard is one of my agenda items today for a meeting with decision-makers.
The eBay merchant financing is certainly a legitimate offer that can help commercial sellers, for example, bridge liquidity bottlenecks. The same applies here as well: an additional offer from eBay that you can use if needed, but don't have to.
Best regards

·2 years agoHello,
Is anything still going to happen here?
This forced pop-up is extremely annoying for us too ... especially since it happens every time you log in = even if you just need to get back to the transactions in between and are therefore prompted to log in ...
😞

·2 years agoGood morning @auktionshop-ku-ki-an-troe
based on experience, with eBay you have to expect a longer processing time for a matter, please don't rush things, going through specialist departments and ebay.com in the US can easily take weeks, months, or even a year 🤗

Thanks for sharing your feelings about this with us here too, @auktionshop-ku-ki-an-troe - the people responsible have now been informed about your reactions regarding the repeatedly appearing Extended-Promo ads.
Kind regards

OP2 years agoHey @miriam@ebay ,
since nothing has happened here for 2 months now and I still keep seeing the same ad, I'm marking this post as (un-) resolved as well.
Best regards from the Baltic Sea and all the best

Hello @petersmodellbahnstuebchen - Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, I have passed along your request for a "Don't show again" button for you accordingly, even though, based on the lack of responses so far, I assume that others aren't bothered nearly as much by this note with the Ads Enhanced discount promotion.
Best regards
Miriam

Please don't underestimate that only a very small fraction of users find their way into this community - the number of other users bothered by this pop-up is likely considerable.
Otherwise, I agree with Peter, having it pop up once in a while may be okay, but the constant repetition will eventually annoy (almost) every user.
PS: 75% discount on the extended ads? 10 euros off when installing the app?
Seems like things aren't going too well at the moment 🤔
