Maaaan, do I seriously have to start a thread now because there’s no way to delete folders in messages through the browser?

What incompetent genius came up with that? For crying out loud, no wonder I can’t recommend eBay to anyone... It’s just as bad as Microsoft’s Admin Center.

Why can’t they just implement a checkbox function like with normal messages, which you can delete too!

BY THE WAY, THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE 2016 - BECAUSE SOMEONE ALREADY ASKED ABOUT IT BACK THEN!!! AND ABOVE ALL “My folder 1” WHY!? WHY!?? FOR WHAT REASON!? MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

A year later, the problem still hasn’t been fixed. If I were an eBay employee, I’d be embarrassed.

Hello ,

I have the same problem too. NO DELETING , NO EDITING , NO RENAMING , NO CREATING folders in messages possible.

Don't even try to understand why this is so. What purpose and point is eBay supposedly pursuing with this ?

Anyone who knows anything about IT knows that this is a real piece of sadness. They’re not even capable of adding a simple delete function for folders. Even my IT intern could have programmed that in a few minutes. Absolute master programmers .

It’s not about “not being able to,” it’s about “not wanting to.”

On eBay, server capacity is saved to the extreme, so there’s no way you can rename or delete folders you created yourself.

That this is of course complete nonsense doesn’t matter.

I can only agree with that. I had already pointed this out to Ebay once before. It surely can't be that hard to add a delete function here. Likewise, every time I have to look up how to create a new folder. A checkbox would make sense here too. This morning I can't even manage that.

Subject: Delete folder in messages!?

I have exactly the same problem too; you can create custom folders in the folder bar below "Archive" by clicking "Create folder" - but you can neither edit nor delete them.

Also, the number of folders you can create is limited to max. 10 (which I understand).

I do not understand why these folders cannot be renamed.

This way, they could be used again.

The contents of these folders are also automatically deleted according to the guidelines (retention period).

That means these custom folders are only meant for temporary use anyway.

It should be possible to delete these folders or rename them after they have been "emptied" by Ebay.

Only then does this useful function make sense.

That doesn't work anymore either.. under ARCHIVE .. click and create a folder ! !
Nothing works anymore..
no CREATING . . no DELETING . . no RENAMING ..
The folders you have / had created ( back then ) .. those work and you can
also move things into them and delete the messages in them too. 😉

Hello @blackcloud20v - the "Create folder" button disappears when you have already created 5 folders. The fact that folders once created cannot currently be deleted is known and is already on the list as an enhancement request.

I have exactly the same problem, you can create custom folders in the folder bar below "Archive" by clicking "Create folder", by default there is a folder "My Folder 1" available - but you can't edit or delete either of them. What is that supposed to mean? See screenshot

By the way, I created the folder named "delete" as a test, and it can no longer be edited or deleted either...

Please note that we cannot guarantee a change in this area, as various decision-making factors, including available resources and the cost-benefit analysis, must be taken into account.
