Return: 5284981594

A buyer opens a warranty claim after more than 30 days.
Through eBay, this request can be voluntarily "accepted" or "declined" after 30 days.
The customer receives a replacement delivery as part of the warranty.
The process is documented in eBay communications.
The option is still missing to close a case as "completed" and not initiate a refund.
Would you please close the return?
Best regards
Thomas

Just so you know. This is problematic insofar as customers only shop on ebay once a year and therefore don’t read the messages.

Hello @ttd4it! Your suggestion has been received and the recommendation in this situation is that your customers can close the return once the issue has been satisfactorily resolved, for example by delivering a replacement item. That is exactly as intended and предусмотрено.
In future, you can contact your customers directly in such situations and ask them to close the return once everything has been clarified 🙂.
Best regards
Miriam

Good morning Miriam,
could you please take a look at this?
As can be seen from the correspondence with the buyer, they have received a replacement delivery.
The tracking number is on file, and the delivery confirmation is available from DHL.
The return can be closed.
Best regards
Thomas

Hello @raffke2012! I’m happy to pass on your request to be able to close the return request yourself when a replacement item has been provided as a suggestion for improvement - thanks for that.
The return has now been closed in your favor and does not affect your service status.
Kind regards
Miriam

isn't the following valid, that the buyer can close the request:
How to close a return request
You have agreed with the seller and found a solution or would you rather keep the item after all? In that case, you can easily close the request.
Here's how:
Please make sure that you really want to close the request. Once a request has been closed, it is unfortunately not possible to reopen it.

I don’t have a valid warranty case that I, as the buyer, could initiate in order to understand your suggestion.
Nevertheless, thanks for the tip.
In principle, both sides should be able to request a closure, provided the correspondence is also understandable for eBay. After all, both are out of eBay buyer and seller protection after more than 30 days.

I thought your buyer had opened a warranty claim, so I figured you were sending him this text.
But anyway, I’m not aware that you can open something on eBay because of a warranty obligation.

For that, one person or another checks their eBay inbox too infrequently.
Apparently, at the moment, eBay actually offers the possibility to start a return after the 14/30-day cancellation period or the 30-day eBay “warranty”.
Basically not a bad idea, if you also make a mandatory distinction between:
a.) cancellation
b.) complaint
c.) warranty
That hasn’t been the case so far.
