Feedback: ... and then there was also the thing with the AI
Feel free to form your own opinion.
Whether we discuss it is another matter.
At the latest when the effects are reflected in ratings, the matter needs to be revised.
Background: ebay rates the return shipment as “delay” for the outbound shipment.
Here’s the whole thing as a screenshot:

a.) Return shipment
b.) Outbound shipment

Hello you two,
maybe you could pass this on to the “logistics people”.
I can’t (and neither can everyone else) accept a flaw in the calculation of the service rate like this.
I think other sellers will not like it either.
Best regards
Thomas

Thanks for the feedback.
I’ll get in touch when I see a status change to service status in the VCP.

@miriam@ebay
Here’s another current example of supposedly "late delivery":
Order number: 14-13962-42227, 13.12.2025
Shipping date: 16.12.2025
After shipment on 16.12.2025, the customer refused acceptance online:
The system says. "Late - original delivery date was Thu, Dec 18 - Wed, Dec 24"
A shipment for which acceptance is refused cannot possibly be delivered on time.
The return shipment has also not yet been delivered to me.
Either lost or subsequently delivered by DHL.
As a precaution, a note on the "service status" with a request for correction as soon as this is calculated.
Best regards

Thanks for the further example @ttd4it - it was presented internally once again. Please get back to us again if there should be a deficiency, though we do not expect that.
Kind regards

Hello Miriam,
as announced, a new example:
Order number: 23-13788-16423
Purchased: 08.11.2025
Shipped: 10.11.2025
Delivered: 11.11.2025
The shipment status claims for the return shipment "delayed delivery"
The return number, which ends in xxxxxxxx482, is not known in the Hermes tracking system.
Best regards
Thomas

Hello @ttd4it and thanks for the new example. Before I can present this to the tech team, one follow-up question: Can I also retrieve the return shipment number (Hermes return label was bought via eBay) on the Hermes website? What do you mean by "is not known in the tracking system"?
Thanks and kind regards
Miriam

The error is probably with Hermes.
On three attempts, the tracking number wasn't available:
First attempt via eBay.
Second attempt directly via the Hermes homepage.
On the third attempt, it worked and
on the fourth attempt the number was invalid again.
Best regards

OP9 months agoGood morning@miriam@ebay ,
the delay is always shown as soon as an item is returned.
So the buyers received the shipment on time.
Only when it is returned is the shipping date referenced again.
If I have another example, I'll add it to this thread.
Best regards
Thomas

OP9 months agoHello @miriam@ebay
I still have another example for you here:
Order: 01-13676-88584 from 05.10.2025
Shipped: 07.10.2025
Delivered: 10.10.2025
Return shipping:
So with the means available to me (desktop view), it is still wrong.
Best regards
Thomas

Hello @ttd4it - am I right in my assumption that the note "Delayed" is only ever shown when the returned item is ready for pickup, but has not yet been picked up? Even for order 01-13676-88584 the tracking number is now correct again and unfortunately we can no longer trace it. If you happen to have another example, please send it to me again.
Thanks and best regards
Miriam

Hello @ttd4it - I've followed up on your report and would ask you to take another look at the order. As far as I can tell, both tracking numbers (outbound and return shipping) look good and show no delay 🙂.
Best regards
Miriam

If it were just one construction site ... but some issues have been open for quite a while, and sellers and buyers are increasingly becoming beta testers.
I would have already driven a new car back onto the dealer's lot, given the same list.
You just have to transfer the whole thing to real life.
Imagine if shopping at the supermarket were as clunky as on eBay.
