Shipping to parcel lockers: when using postage via eBay, letter shipping is NO LONGER possible
Summary: In the discussion, kreativ-partner points out that for a few weeks now, letter shipments can no longer be selected with eBay postage when the delivery is to a Packstation. lolly030 explains that this may be related to DHL's offers. hasjana and kometenhuhn discuss the conditions for shipping to Packstations. kreativ-partner notes that eBay shipping labels no longer differ from those available in the postal service's online shop. An official response from eBay shows that the feedback has been passed on to the shipping team, without being able to name a specific date for a fix.
Hello everyone,
I hope that there are still eBay employees around in this new forum (as was the case before).
For several weeks now, through eBay postage you have NOT been able to select letter mail for postage anymore if a Packstation is entered as the delivery address. You can select merchandise shipments, but no letter mail. For letter mail, however, you have basic shipment tracking and seller protection too, which is not possible with merchandise shipments.

Hello @kreativ-partner and everyone, and thank you very much for your feedback and the lively discussion. I’ve picked up the topic and shared your feedback with our shipping team. Unfortunately, at this point we can’t say when there will be an improvement here so that sending letters to Packstations via our shipping solution will be possible again.
Best wishes

OPJul 17, 2026 at 6:00 AMHello Miriam,
many thanks for your feedback and your efforts. Since the problem is now known to the department responsible, I’m hoping it’ll be working again in the foreseeable future.
Kind regards

·1 month agoHello, that’s probably because DHL no longer offers that.

Here under the section: Which shipments can I receive at a Packstation?

·1 month agoLarge letters and maxi letters can certainly be addressed to a Packstation

·1 month agoShould work, but only with Matrix code franking. Without that, the letters get sent back because it violates the terms and conditions. I’ve had that twice in a row now, unfortunately.

·1 month agoYes, no, not with a matrix code, but only with an Internet stamp or digital stamp.

OP1 month agoHello lolly030,
many thanks for your reply. In your link above, among other things, item shipments, merchandise mail as well as large and maxi letters without additional services (franking with Internetmarke or Digitalmarke) are also listed as shipments that can be sent to a Packstation.
Ebay has made some changes to franking over the last few weeks; since then, letter shipping can no longer be selected in the list.
That’s a shame, because with the basic shipment tracking you get with Matrixcode shipping labels, you’re covered by seller protection.
Are you sure that Matrixcode shipping labels are something different from Internernetmarken?
If you buy an Internetmarke from the Post online shop, apart from the missing eBay logo it looks completely identical to the Matrixcode shipping labels you can buy via Ebay. Including the square matrix code.

OP1 month agoSince I just created a new matrix code shipping label via eBay, I noticed that the eBay logo is no longer present on the labels. That makes the things look completely identical to the internet stamps from the post office's online shop.

·1 month agoIt's all a bit confusing. Stamps also have a matrix code. If I remember correctly, an internal shipment number has to exist, otherwise the delivery driver can't place the parcel in the Packstation.
That is probably the case with Internetmarke and Digitalmarke (whatever that is supposed to be?)
How Ebay generates the shipping labels now is unfortunately not known to me. But probably also via the shipping provider.
