Payment with eBay account balance

If this option exists, (why) does eBay actually have anything against not funding the account beforehand via a sale, but instead topping it up yourself by SEPA transfer in order to pay for items?

·2 months agoWhat would be the point of first “topping up” the eBay balance from your own account and then paying for one or more items with it?
And bank transfers have no longer been available on eBay for a long time.

OP2 months agoBut should I have to use giants like PayPal or Klarna, because that makes so much sense, instead of also being allowed to make my own transfer to eBay.
As has happened hundreds of times in the past, being allowed to pay the seller myself — I’m not even writing about that, because that’s eBay history.

OP2 months agoThere is no credit there. Unfortunately, my last transaction was years ago.
But I would definitely consider topping up my eBay account myself if eBay signaled that such a payment method is generally okay.
