eBay is getting worse and worse
For almost 2 years now I’ve had the problem that eBay keeps withholding sales proceeds for 30 days without any reason.
For 2 years now I’ve been forced to pay everything upfront, which isn’t usual in the trades!
I offer carports and gazebos as kits, which I manufacture after purchase and ship via freight forwarder.
For almost 2 years now I’ve had continuous problems with eBay, and I’ve been on it for almost 15 years. I even hired a lawyer, but he was no good either.
By now it’s gotten to the point that I’ll be scaling back my sales activities on eBay by November at the latest and completely switching over, converting residential containers and then offering them on other platforms, or offering them via Shopify.
Last year I was already thinking about limiting my sales activities a bit, since the fees at eBay have exploded and I sometimes have to pay between 250 and 300 euros in fees per item to eBay for services that are absolutely lousy.
By now, though, it’s at the point where I’m making a cut and just want away from eBay. eBay makes between 20,000 - 25,000€ a year off me, I can do without that too.
eBay hasn’t improved, and if you read around online, more and more sellers are turning their backs on eBay.
I really thought about it for a long time, but eBay leaves me no choice — after almost 15 years as an eBay seller, I’m saying goodbye
