Ebay currently seems to have a very questionable organization, to put it politely: After a sale had taken place on eBay, which after all doesn't happen every day, we suddenly were supposed to verify the account details, even though everything had previously worked without any problems, by the way since as far back as 2012. The long-overdue payouts had by then brazenly been withheld by eBay. Although all the verifications carried out were legally unobjectionable and completely correct in terms of content, after eight full and repeated verifications we kept receiving the same notice again and again: "Unfortunately, we could not verify some of your details. In order for us to continue with the verification, please update the details in your eBay account so that further restrictions can be avoided". Likewise, call center employees, whom we also contacted several times, rarely knew the real reasons and kept asking us to carry out the same verification again. However, as we learned from various statements by eBay members, some of which appeared on the websites of law firms, this procedure and/or organization of the company eBay does not only affect us, but already numerous members. We have already written to eBay's management on this issue, but so far have not received any response. We would like to point out that this is an unlawful practice by eBay, which should be clarified through legal action. If it can be determined here that the obvious error lies not with the eBay member, but with the company eBay itself, as is clearly the case in our situation, eBay will have to bear the costs of the legal dispute.(Published on 14/10/2025)
