Hello, I’m in a forum for the first time, so please excuse me.
The issue: I sold something on eBay (2 kg parcel, insured, DHL cost 6.19€). After the message comes in that the buyer has paid, I processed the shipping label via the eBay form. All the details are automatically inserted there. Then you have various payment methods to choose from: via PayPal, via eBay, etc. I’ve always paid via PayPal so far, and then it’s also debited from my bank account by PayPal. So far, everything’s fine. But for about half a year now (unfortunately I only noticed it now, and it affects several cases by now), eBay deducts the shipping label cost (i.e. 6.19€) from the total amount the buyer paid (i.e. purchase price + postage/shipping costs) and transfers only the purchase amount to me. So now I’ve paid for the shipping label twice, once via PayPal and once via eBay. eBay says that’s how it’s supposed to be. Has anyone had similar experiences?

OP2 months agoHello,
first of all, thanks to everyone who has gotten involved here. So the conclusion so far is that, basically, you can now only pay the postage costs from the credit balance. Why it was shown to me with various payment options is still unclear. I've been in contact with Ebay the whole time. But so far nothing much has come of it, let alone a refund. If anything changes, I'll report back again. Thanks again to everyone!

·2 months ago@lautanbi Good evening. 🙂 I’d be happy to pass this on to our specialist department for review.
For this, I need proof that the shipping label was additionally paid for via PayPal. I’ll send you an email in the next few minutes, please reply to it.
@perfect-sally Thank you very much for marking it. ❤️
Kind regards,
Nina

·2 months agoShouldn’t actually be possible like with the other user, and definitely not via bank account, since this payment method wasn’t offered before the change either.
Please state the item no.
@verena@ebay could you please take a look? Thanks 🙂

·2 months agoHello @powerlwstore,
I’d be happy to take a closer look at that. Please let me know which order the shipping label belongs to that was charged to you twice.
Best regards

·2 months agoHi @lautanbi
please check in your Paypal overview whether the costs for the Ebay label were actually debited there.
Because I’m also only being offered the purchase via the Ebay balance; other options are not available.

OP2 months agoHello, thanks for the quick reply!
I already checked with PayPal. The amounts were booked with PayPal and debited from my bank account or offset against PayPal credit.

·2 months agoSomething is seriously not right here. Labels can now only be paid for with credit, at least Hermes & DHL. And no other payment methods should be displayed either.
An eBay employee is taking a look at it.
@nina@ebay apparently something is going wrong with the payment for the labels.

·2 months agoLabels can only be paid for with credit on ebay, and have been for quite a while. PayPal really shouldn't even be available as a payment option for labels then. At least for me, it only shows payment with credit as an option.

OP2 months agoHello, thanks for the quick reply!
Yes, the option to pay with credit is also included. But the other options are available too. Nowhere does it say that you HAVE to pay with the credit. Otherwise it wouldn’t make any sense to offer the other payment methods, e.g. PayPal. In my opinion, the error lies with eBay, especially since no notice appears after payment that it was paid with credit. On the contrary, eBay should be able to see that payment has already been made with PayPal. So isn’t that an error in the eBay program?
