International Shipping Rates

Hello eBay. I live in Germany but I'm originally from the USA and have moved back and forth several times. I like to buy American products off eBay and do so regularly. However, there is one aspect which is making it almost prohibitive use eBay amymore. It is you rates for shipment US to Germany. I have sent a lot of parcels across the Atlantic in both directions so I'm familiar with the prices. I understand when it is a bulky or heavy package, but $20.00 to ship a car stereo connector (very small and could be put in an envelope) and the same for a 9/16th wrench???? I have asked the sellers about this and they tell me the prices are established by eBay and to contact you. That is the reason for this message. There are other websites which offer much better shipping costs and I am migrating to them slowly. But I am an eBay fan and want to stay. Any consideration and relief would be appreciated. Thanks.
