Hello all.
I know that when you sell consistantly on ebay, they require you to give them your social security number to verify your identity if you want to keep selling. I also know that if you don't give them it, they will suspend your account permanently. I got a notice today that I need to give them my social security number by June 2nd, 2021, and their reasoning was that I have to do it "so that your eBay account can be used without restrictions again." and so that they can send me payouts. But I have not sold a single item since December of 2020, and in my whole ebay career I have only sold 7 things, and have only made about $100 in total. My account has been strictly for buying things for the past 6 months. Since I physically have not sold anything in 6 months, and I plan on never selling again, why do they still need my social security number? Is there any way that I can not give them it since I don't sell stuff?
Hello!
You just write in the community of ebay. de not ebay.com.
But the question can be answered here: if you do not give them the social security number, then you can not sell, which you do not want.
Take care and stay healthy.
