Cameras that are in the American Ebay's category for Disc Cameras show up in the category Plattenkameras on German Ebay.
On the American Ebay:
Electronics > Cameras & Photo > Vintage Movie & Photography Equipment > Vintage Cameras > Disc Cameras
Becomes on the German Ebay:
Elektronik & Technik > Foto & Camcorder > Photographica > Alte Kameras > Plattenkameras
They are fundamentally different cameras! A Disc Camera is a 1980's invention and a small compact camera for a disc with pieces of tiny 8x11 mm film.
A Plattenkamera (Plate Camera) is a much older invention from the mid 1800s and popular until the 1930s, using glass plates (Glasplatten), often in the size of 6,5x9 cm, 9x12 cm, 13x18 cm, or larger. Do you see the difference?
It's annoying when I look for Plattenkameras and see more of these toy-like Disc Cameras than Plate Cameras. As you see here, only one out of twelve items is a Plattenkamera. 😡
And of course, since I'm in Sweden I can't choose the Item Location (Artikelstandort) when I'm only interested in sellers located in Germany and Europe. That has been complained about for years, but nothing has been done to fix it. It's a big mess!

Hi @odgi, thank you for your feedback. I will pass it on to the relevant team and hope for a quick fix.
There is no need for a fix for the item location search, as we at eBay believe that it is only the location of the item that matters, not the seller's company or even the seller's nationality. Item listed on eBay.de - eBay.de policy applies.
Lieben Gruß,

That is what Item location/Artikelstandort means: where the item is located. And you have removed that filter for us Scandinavian users who visit ebay.de. I want items located within the EU mainly because of the 25% import tax plus fees for items sent from outside EU.
And you have also removed the filter for sizes, so when I look for shoes it's very difficult to find the size I want. So when I want to buy shoes I need to look through hundreds of listings to find shoes located within the EU and of correct size.
The problem is mostly for us ebay users in Scandinavia. Sure, I could log out and then turn on a VPN that gives me a German IP address, do searches with the filters Germans see and note down the item numbers, then log in again and write the item numbers and do the purchases, but it's very time consuming and annoying.
I hope you understand the problems better now.
Have a nice 2025!
